Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
I would rather he faced King Davidson, he's on these shores now and going well.
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Davidson's a light middle. He is fighting Lamptrey and says he has a big fight in March and it needs to be because Lamptrey is a step back from the last 4 fights.Old bones Ian wrote:I would rather he faced King Davidson, he's on these shores now and going well.
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Well he did score a career best win in his last fight; first time he had beaten someone with a winning record!
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Is Frankie happy with this fight? There is almost no point.

I fractured my jaw last fight an I got told last week I have to defend title before June so I wanted to get it out way.. An we want euro or a fighter who will improve my world ranking in late feb early march
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Why not just give the title up then though mate? It seems a pretty pointless fight in all honesty.Frankie Gavin wrote:I fractured my jaw last fight an I got told last week I have to defend title before June so I wanted to get it out way.. Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
You aren't really trying to defend this opponent? Come on mate they are taking the piss out of you. It is embarrassing. You are above being trotted out for fights like this now pal. I mean some on here even have you troubling the elite.Frankie Gavin wrote:I fractured my jaw last fight an I got told last week I have to defend title before June so I wanted to get it out way.. All due respect to Frankie, he was a superb world class amateur. He is nowhere near troubling "the elite" in professional boxing. I had Curtis beating him by two points. This fight is poor but he might need to see how his jaw stands up before going for a top 20 fighter. The elite are miles off just now. Best of luck to the man.

Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Yeah but he is from Accra which as we all know means he will be 'Teak Tough'
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Personally I dont see how anybody can have him troubling the elite with how his pro career has gone so far, but PLENTY see something I don't. He beat Curtis though.Tomasino wrote:DMA1987 wrote:You aren't really trying to defend this opponent? Come on mate they are taking the piss out of you. It is embarrassing. The elite are the likes of Floyd, Bradley and PAC. Nobody said he'd beat them, only Brook, who is a far cry from "the elite".

Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
First fight back after a bad injury, a week before Christmas on another promoters show. Seems like a decent 'safe' type of opponent under the circumstances to me. Good luck Frankie.

Yes they did.mickey1975 wrote:The elite are the likes of Floyd, Bradley and PAC. Nobody said he'd beat them, only Brook, who is a far cry from "the elite".

You still think he beats Brook...mickey1975 wrote:The elite are the likes of Floyd, Bradley and PAC. Nobody said he'd beat them, only Brook, who is a far cry from "the elite".
Take the blinkers off mickey as far as Frankie is concerned Brook is elite.
Frankie thanks for posting good luck with your next fight.
Get yourself a promoter who gives a fuk about you because unless you are the problem.
Of which there are rumours your treading water and will continue to do so.

Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Agree, I don't get it at all. Maybe people just look at his amateur career and assume that means he's going to do well in the pros or something.DMA1987 wrote:

Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Frankie seems to be tougher and stronger than he looks; I was surprised how he dealt with Vassell; hopefully he'll get put in with someone recognised as being very good and then we can measure, he's been a pro 5 or 6 years so it's time to get cracking - I can't see the hold up but imagine theirs more goes on behind the scenes than in front of them.

Can I watch it with you and Curtis, please?
I hope you do achieve your goals in the pro game. All the best.

some boxers are happy to keep their 0 and pick up a wage.....if its easy money why test themself...DMA1987 wrote:Is Frankie happy with this fight? There is almost no point.
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Yep, for example, just like Kell Brook for the last 9 years.los2 wrote:some boxers are happy to keep their 0 and pick up a wage.....if its easy money why test themself...DMA1987 wrote:Is Frankie happy with this fight? There is almost no point.
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
It's a totally pointless fight. I thought we were getting somewhere when he beat Vassell but it's been backward step after backwards step since then. It's already been downgraded to just a good opponent in March. There's no point at all fighting this guy should drop the belt if it's what it takes
Re: Frankie Gavin's next fight is against...
Kell Brook who is mandatory for the IBF? I dont mind a weaker fight if there is a point. Thought none of Kells have been this.expe wrote:Yep, for example, just like Kell Brook for the last 9 years.los2 wrote:some boxers are happy to keep their 0 and pick up a wage.....if its easy money why test themself...DMA1987 wrote:Is Frankie happy with this fight?
