Why dont' promoters like to

Post by REAL_DEAL »

Why don't promoters like to match their fighters with other promoter’s fighters?

Is it because they will lose bragging rights or they won’t fully run the show?

We are missing out on great domestic fights in this country. In America promoters make fights with other promoting outfits all the time.

The only fight we are getting is Froch vs Dodson where these 2 fighters fight for different promoters.

Can't the Boxing Board force match ups to be made with some sort of incentive if necessary - eg loss of belt, no title challenge for next 2 years etc

It's not that it can't be done. It is more the promoters have such highly inflated ego's, that they can't see past their own snout when the reality is, they are all eating out of the same troff.

They act like a bunch of kids most of the time, and it's no wonder Boxing is only a minority sport in this country when we have promoters, and managers of this ilk.
