Burns v Crawford in Feb

Post by forcefraser »

Apparently this hs been made. Tough fight for Burns. He has looked poor in past few fights and Crawford is a step up from what he has been fighting.

Unless he can pull out a Martinez type of performance, the belt will be going back over the pond.

Crawford is no joke and he aint coming to Glasgow to make up the numbers.

I think your right :TU:
Would be great if Burns boxes to the best of his ability and stayed champ, even at his best Crawford would be a really hard nights work...

Tough fight for Ricky. He has to keep the tempo up for 12, without falling in as Crawford Biscuit is a decent counter-punching switch-hitter.

He's got to rough him up and punch with him. He can't throw single shots or get clumsy or he could get punished. Hit him on the arms, the chest, everywhere.

lots of pressure and force the pace.

A fast paced, rough, tough fight only suits one man, and it ain't Crawford. Get the jab going early, right hand, plenty of body shots, like you say, as long as they make contact with something, it's working. Crawford will be walking into something he has never experienced before, a hostile atmosphere in a country he knows nothing of and a genuinely world class fighter who is in as good condition as any other fighter. Put it on him from the first bell and see how he responds, I don't see him liking being roughed up and hit back for the first time in his career.

No because you come out with a statement with nothing to back it up, Ricky will beat Crawford because he's more experienced, proven and busier fighter

Big payday this time out :TU: I hope Ricky comes through this test.
I really would like to see the Beltran fight again after this that guy deserves a rematch more than anyone and be interested to see how Ricky does without the broken jaw in rd2 .
Good luck Billy and Ricky.

Lets see what Crawford really has. Ricky is the proven word class fighter here. He is the one that has been tested and because of that many are picking Crawford to win as Crawford has looked quite good vs his level of opposition.

Ricky would also look good against the guys Crawford has fought.

Crawford is the one with all the questions to answer, can he fight away from home, will the atmosphere get to him, can he really take a shot, can he go 12 with a world champion......Ricky has answered these question.

IF Crawford is the real deal then its a hard nights work for Ricky. It can either go 2 ways......Crawford folds and proves he is just hype or Crawford shows he is genuine world class. Right now we dont know that.

Hoping for a cracking fight and im glad its in Glasgow.

Ricky has not shown that much in his past two fights to be honest.

Crawford is unproven, but not many unbeaten yanks travel to the Glasgow for their first crack at a title belt unless they are confident of winning.

I`ve seen a few of his fights and he is a quality operator. Admittedly the opposition has not been the best but we can say that about much of Ricky`s oppponents of late. Beltram, Gonzales, Mitchell, Katsidis, Moses, Lareya, Cook and evensen does not exactly read like a Frochesque style list. It reads like a allegedly list of WBO contenders.

I like Ricky a lot and hope he wins, but I can see a tough night. Hope I`m wrong.

you make valid points although we all heard the same with kevin mitchell, he was looking good vs inferior opposition and many tipped him to beat Ricky.

Lots of questions will be answered, i just hope Ricky and his team get the credit IF they win on feb 8th

Ricky has to be in Crawford's face for the full 12 rounds or Crawford will bore-box him to death, for me.
