I'm really looking for definitive answers, not, "depends on the situation".
Should there be a three knockdown rule?
12 rounds or 15?
Should fighters weigh in the day before the fight?
Should a boxer be able to win a fight with a low blow?
Should defence/making your opponent be taken into consideration when scoring a round?
Should convicted users of PEDs be allowed into the hall of fame?

Re: A Few Questions For You All.
Three knockdown rule - Yes, in all except Championship fights.
15 rounds
Same day weigh-ins as it would actually mean guys would fight other guys who were the same size.
Win with a low blow? Absolutely not.
Defense - Yes but only if they're even on just about all other factors. If they landed basically the same amount of punches, and one guy made the other miss a lot of big shots with slick defense. I reckon that should make the difference.
Yes - if most of their most noteworthy accomplishments were before the PED allegations. No - if they were exposed, suspended, and then went on to do HOF worthy stuff.

Re: A Few Questions For You All.
no 3 knock down rule.
championship fights (wba, wbo, wbc, ibf) should be 12 rounds, other titles below that should be 10. I think the 15 rounds were taken out because of fighter safety. 12 rounds is still enough. or maybe make it 13 to stop the draws.
if low blow is 1 off, and deemed unintentionally than TD is alright. If it's blatant, than DQ
Defense should not be taking into consideration, only offensive attack. but if fighter is defending he isn't getting hit, therefore no points are being scored by the other fighters... although he still has to have offense too. Reminds me of Sam Soliman vs Wink, I remember Winky had awesome defence, most punches landing on gloves etc, but I think Soliman stole many rounds due to the fact Winky wasn't throwing anything. Even if Sams shots were just landing on the gloves, points should land to the guy with the higher work rate.
Convicted PED users should be banned from the sport period! definitely not hall of fame. If fighter A who takes PEDs it could be the use of those PEDs that make him competitive at a higher level, where as fighter B just gets journeyman status, and gets nothing out of the sport. Not fair that a fighter only gets 6 months suspension etc.. with those penalties in place, its the best interest for fighter B to TAKE PEDs

Actually most places in the world spell it defence I believe the US is the only place that spells it that way.Il Duce wrote:............YES, nobody cares.keithmoonhangover wrote:I'm really looking for definitive answers, not, "depends on the situation".

Yes
Has to be the ref's call
Yes but to a lesser extent (I'd really like to see a way of scoring that penalised negative tactics...not engaging...excessive holding/clinching)
In a prefect world no

Re: A Few Questions For You All.
I would go with 12 rounds. You get more action per round because fighters don't pace themselves as much. How many fighters nowadays would you want to see fight 15 rounds?
I agree with Trent that there should be a 13th round if the fight is judged a draw.
I'm fine with the 3 knockdown rule. If you have been knocked down that many times in one round, obviously you are hurt.
Weigh in? I guess same day. Don't really care.
Win with a low blow. I don't think you should be able to win 1 low blow. I like the rule that the fighter getting hit low gets time to recover. Of course most "low blows" don't really cause any damage. You also don't want situations like Ruiz-Johnson where one fighter is milking it so the other gets disqualified.
However, on the other hand, you can't just let one throw one low blow after another.
Should defense be considered? That's a little tricky. A fighter should not credit for making the other guy miss; however if he doesn't get hit his opponent won't get credit offensively. So obviously a good defense will help you win.
PEDs, bar from Hall of Fame-Yes. Obviously you can't catch everyone, but catch as many as you can.

Re: A Few Questions For You All.
3 knockdown rule .....yes
12 rds i'm ok with that ,if you watch older fights much of the last few rd's the fighters are shot
NO ...same day weigh ins ,it's getting crazy with light heavy weights fighting welter weights
NO ....i think fighter shouldn't be allowed to have their protectors to high either some fighter have them under there chest .
yes BUT if a fighter makes someone miss but doesn't land himself then neither fighter is being effective so i'd go with the aggressor .
NO.NO.NO .....fighters should be banned if they have cheated .

Should there be a three knockdown rule?
No, the official should be capable enough to see when a fighter has had enough instead of relying on a crutch to bail him out.
12 rounds or 15?
12, nobody today has ever gone 15 so there is no point to change.
Should fighters weigh in the day before the fight?
No, healthier fighters = better fights.
Should a boxer be able to win a fight with a low blow?
No, replay should be used in that situation and fighters should be forced to actually wear their trunks where they belong.
Should defence/making your opponent be taken into consideration when scoring a round?
Absolutely
Should convicted users of PEDs be allowed into the hall of fame?
Yes, PED's are too widespread for me to just condemn those that were dumb enough to get caught by Boxing's laughable testing system.
