Where is Dave coldwell going???

Post by hurlock »

It seems hard for him to get anywhere, will he produce a Clinton woods??
He has to be third or fourth place for any prospect to choose.
He seems a hard worker & ties in with lots of promoters & maybe he'd be better working for one??

Over the past few years, I've been to more of Coldwell's shows than any other promoters. I'd like to see him bag a decent heavyweight prospect. I'm disappointed things didn't work out with Burton.

It would be good if allegedly and Coldwell and Wood etc could strike a deal where the best fights/prospects from their shows are broadcast on BN on delay during the week.

He is getting some his fighters chances on sky, but at the moment he mainly has prospects we'll see where he is in 2-3 years time.

Are you trolling?
He is an up and coming promoter/manager/trainer.
Is 3rd or 4th choice bad considering the length of time the top 2 or 3 have been at it?
His shows are good value and as you said he is well connected
surely the sports gagging for promoters who know the game from grass roots up.
He had great success with Rhodes and doing a top job of Managing promoting Woodhouse.
When the right kid walks through his gym doors he will be more than capable of getting the best out of them and guide them to the top if that kid isnt already in the stable.

There is a lack off shows & people suggest midweek shows which is hard to achieve for the small promoter, but canning coldwells shows & getting them reviewed should make for an ideal filler.

Ross minter had the queensbury promotions fight league & I thought the concept was cracking!just a poor standard of boxing

Steve does quite a bit of reffing and MCing on the unlicensed scene. I love it when he bollocks the fighters. I'll have a hunt for a clip or two...

Dave's worked for Promotors before and decided to give it a crack himself - and good on him.
He's in there scrapping, puts on good shows, has the TV App. What more do you want at this stage in his business development ?
He gets on well with Hearn and if it's right for all parties gets his fighters exposure on Sky.

Just as an example Nav Mansouri is the current English Light Middleweight Champ and when he gets his mandatory out of the way on 7 February he will be right in the mix for a shot at the British.
Maxi Hughes under Lockett's tutelage is improving fight on fight and keep an eye on yet another Sheffield prospect Joe Rodgers.
All featured on Coldwell shows.

Coldwell is in a good position right now. He has a number of prospects particularly in Liverpool and Sheffield. He can pack those shows on ever other month or so with prospects. He uses the clever tactic of using one of the bigger promoters prospects to headline the show. An example was atom Stalker headlining new kids on the dock.

Just needs to keep grinding away and getting his prospects into title class and see where he can go from there. It's tough for small hall promoters to break into the tv side if the game. I think his best bet is to promote small hall and build his prospects up and manage them into bigger fights and ultimately aim for some big co-promotions later down the line. Use that as an "in".

Enjoyed the shows of his we I have been to. Recently was at New kids on the dock 2 was slow to get started but was a pretty good show once it got going. It's all about getting the matchmaking right to provide progression but excitement at the same time.

Sometimes you get it right sometimes you get it wrong. One thing I did like was his use of dancers to give the place a bit of atmosphere. Sometimes things can get a bit dry between fights. Need to keep the feel good atmosphere going.

Where is Dave coldwell going???
Dave is going to hell.

But he is going in style, in a classic jaguar with 3 topless women whilst smoking a cuban cigar.

Next question ?

Dave Coldwell is doing ok for himself, however he has a f*cking huge problem ... he needs a headline fighter who will stay loyal to him.

In addition he needs TV to be a little more flexible than the monopolies that are occuring at the moment ... As soon as a fighter wins a decent fight ... the vulchers from the TV companies are hovering for the fighter to sign for their promoter.

The way boxing is in regards to TV opportunities has closed many doors in regards to other promoters becoming major players.

He puts some good shows on, been to both the Sheffield & Bowlers shows. He has a decent prospect in Liam Hanrahan who is making good progress in a shallow division. Bearing in mind that Quigg & Frampton have moved beyond British I think he will be in the mix in 2014.

Coldwell provided the last live show of the summer! I think he does a good job with the resources and stable he has, as well as providing live and free boxing to those that want to watch

Yes very good! Did Carl give his permission for you to be surgically removed from his cock to allow you to post that?
