Katsidis re-signs with Smith

Post by AntonS »

Michael Katsidis “The Great” has reunited with long time trainer and manager Brendon Smith.
The former 2 time WBO world lightweight champion who has been in the ring with greats such as Juan Manuel Marquez, Robert Guerrero, Juan Diaz and many more under the bright lights of Las Vegas has signed a two year deal with the man he achieved so much with, Brendon Smith.
The pair resigned Christmas eve after a split two years ago.
Training has commenced and they are working towards a March date for their return together.
Further announcements to be made soon.

If this is correct, why would his trainer not encourage him to retire. His health is more important than making some coin.

Agree Ben. I don't think Brendon would put him in unless he gets a full clearance. I hope he has done all the tests to make sure that he is right for battle.

if he doesn't have medical clearance then he won't be fighting, whether smith wants him to or not.

Katsidis has had his day. He dropped a p4p great, and had some good wins under his belt. Nothing more to prove... Please retire now.
