Promising New Zealand heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker was assaulted at a nightclub while holidaying in Samoa.

Parker was attacked by two men and a woman who punched him in the head and scratched his face at the Club X nightclub in Apia on December 29, the New Zealand Herald has reported.

Parker was over in Apia watching Vaitele Soi's fight on the 19th. Hope he's been sparring whilst over there (and not just in the night clubs) I'm looking forward to seeing him out again in March, he really is a breath of fresh air for NZ boxing.
