Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
Anyone else seen this ?!?! Two mins ten seconds in. Tyson was bitten by his bath whilst at his training camp in the South of France last week. Yes, his bath.

Which he openly admits with his "love handles" jokes.80/20 wrote:Wow disappointing conditioning from tyson ?
I was going to turn this clip off as it was just inane, then he mentioned how the bath had actually bitten him and I had to keep watching to hear the story.... then he shows the wound and it seems legit !
Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
Madness, He seemed to mature a bit towards the end of 2013 (before the retirement nonsense) and with good guidance I think Tyson can be good for british boxing he's a big guy and can fight and has shown that he can box a bit even for entertainment value with the singing ect he could have cross over appeal which can only be a good thing.
But from what I have seen through video ect of this camp its seems as if its a family and friends jolly.
He describes the location as better as there is more to see and do which may not be a good thing for Tyson as he seems to lack focus at times however I respect Peter Fury he seems like he knows whats what and he must have a plan.

It seems like the training camp is tailored for the kind of inept import now confirmed as the opponent. The bath tub gave Tyson more pain than the South American will.80/20 wrote:Madness, He seemed to mature a bit towards the end of 2013 (before the retirement nonsense) and with good guidance I think Tyson can be good for british boxing he's a big guy and can fight and has shown that he can box a bit even for entertainment value with the singing ect he could have cross over appeal which can only be a good thing.

In a world where formal media training turns real human beings into automated machines who are so careful not to let a real thought, opinion or emotion slip through their lips, Fury is a tonic. Give me "the bath bit me" any day, over the smary, scripted soundbites of say the Klitschko's.

You really like the Fury family? Which bit? The eye gouging, the criminality, the violence, the prison sentences? Wow you really look for the best...mullenman wrote:very funny vidoe,

I actually really like Tyson, he is entertaining and a breath of fresh air, but not quite sure about the rest of them

Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
I think its easier for a lot of people (not all) to take to somebody who's generally open and unguarded. If he wins a world title and starts singing on the mic in the ring immediately afterwards, it would make headlines around the world far over and above just winning the fight.
I laugh my head off at him, he sometimes goes too far and says things he should keep to himself but again I think quite a lot of people would identify with him for that. We all have to be careful what we say at times and Fury just can't keep his gob shut

Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
i've warmed to this guy over the years. I think he's the most entertaining talker since Ali. However, that's where the similarity ends. Tyson Fury is neither a world class boxer nor athlete imo. However, what he does have is world class attributes.80/20 wrote: But from what I have seen through video ect of this camp its seems as if its a family and friends jolly.
Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
Tyson Fury is hilarious. Is he a world class boxer. In my opinion yes. Is he as good as he says?? No but I think he knows that himself. People keeping telling me Anthony Joshua is a funny guy. Well from what I've seen on Ifilm he isn't very funny. Fighters shoulda be themselves not hide away and pretend to be someone they are not.
Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
Fury should go West again imo, after his great debut there. Forget about Haye and see what he can do himself. The Klitschkos are now gone and he's about 25-26 yrs old with some enormous attributes. He needs to keep himself in shape because there's gonna be big opportunities come his way.
Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
He looked in terrific shape in November! Scary how quick he loses shape

You mean John Fury?reggaereggae wrote:You really like the Fury family? Which bit? The eye gouging, the criminality, the violence, the prison sentences? Wow you really look for the best...mullenman wrote:very funny vidoe,

Let me tell you something, just because someone has done time, doesn't make them a bad person. Neither does self defense make you a violent person. All sources essentially state John Fury was doing nothing wrong, and some asshat from 20 years ago tries to assault him, and Fury defends himself; was it extreme that an eyeball was either knocked out of socket or gauged out? Yes. Shouldnt of gone that far, but then again--- the world of the traveller is alot like the Italian mafia, someone takes a shot at the head Don that person has to be either eliminated or made an example of in a worse way possible. I dont expect people to really understand that, but, in that world its about being the baddest, roughest, toughest, meanest, etc. to gain the respect of the entire community. And when I mean community, I mean all travellers/romany/gypsies across Europe. It's often said word passes faster through the gypsy wire (word of mouth) than by any telephone.
Besides that, dont give John Fury too hard of a time, he's from a time and age when travellers had 'death matches' and men acted as their own referees--- there was none of this taped hand, fair play, call fights off on a sneeze, bullshit like how its done today among bare knuckle enthusiasts. Guys like John Fury, Joe Joyce, Uriah Burton, Bartley Gorman, etc. fought for keeps and it was always a 'live or die' situation---- so, when the old man fights, you better believe he only knows one way of doing so, and that's fight and win at all costs. Again, I dont expect you to understand.

Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
HH, you love to romanticise the traveller lifestyle don't you! Should write into channel four mate, they would give you your own show.
'Not unlike the Italian mafia' yeah, right.
I remember reading about the incident which led to him going away. Many different variations, you say someone from years ago started the trouble, another story says John Fury himself was the instigator, he was shouting and telling everyone in the immediate area that he was the best man there and would beat anyone who wanted it etc
Someone losing an eye in a fight isn't that uncommon though. Same with ears getting bit off. I have witnessed an ear getting munched off before in a fight between two fvckwits. Also seen a man attempt to take his so called friends eye out in a pub fight too!
He could have been unlucky or he could currently be serving everything he deserved. Hard to know when you are not present. Given his reputation I suspect many only hear what they want to hear when it comes to that particular incident.
I thought he seemed a negative influence around Tyson in the early days, before during and after his fights etc
Was coming out with so world class bullshit about his boy, even for a traveller!!! ( I remember something about young Tyson being able to have whupped the likes of Larry Holmes etc
)

Interesting to study Hughie's face and body language during some points during this interview.....
....there's just the hint of a young, hungrier and more disciplined fighter looking bored/slightly contemptuous of the 'star' fighter's behaviour.
Boxing Monthly have just done a big profile of Hughie and it is very insightful indeed; Hughie putting distance between his character and approach compared to Tyson's and also underlining his complete, total commitment to the sport.
There's some food for thought there about which Fury proves to be the real deal....

Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
Good post. I was thinking that when watching the video, until Tyson said the bath had bitten him the night before and went on to tell the story. It was the most entertaining story I've heard first hand (as in, in a video, told by the fighter) from a boxer in ages. He's either a fool or a genius. It did occur to me that Hughie's stood there thinking "jesus you wouldn't get me talking sxxt like that on camera"Bodyshot3 wrote:Interesting to study Hughie's face and body language during some points during this interview.....

Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
@JimJim2009.....I agree about Tyson, he's a born entertainer and I do like the way he is prepared to take the mick out of himself and breaks the mould of always trying to be the confident, brooding/threatening heavyweight.
But Glyn Leach's excellent feature is a bit of an eye-opener; there's the undercurrent of a suggestion there that Hughie is going to be his own man and is going to avoid Tyson's approach to publicity, training and learning the business. Nothing is said explicitly; but Hughie is laying down a marker that he's a different character and will plot his own, alternative course.
That's why I found the video so interesting....Hughie is more disciplined, serious and he is not in awe of Tyson.

Both are likeable chaps. Hughie seems more 'business' though.
Shame his recent performances have been very lacklustre.

Re: Tyson Fury "the bath bit me"
The best thing for Hughie's career might be to be sat ringside and watch an over-confident, cocky Tyson get well and truly hammered in a shock defeat. It might get Hughie into the right frame of mind.lillywhite14 wrote:Both are likeable chaps. Hughie seems more 'business' though.

Or, try that bath for himself and see if he can get in and out without it biting him
