Danny Williams fights Augustin N'Gou...

Post by bennie »

Danny fights the huge Ivory Coast man in the main event at York Hall on Thursday. Interesting match. N'Gou has lost only one of his 22 fights.
Also on the bill, John McDermott fights James Zikic in his comeback. Kevin Mitchell and Martin Power also appear.

Bloody hell is that a padded record or what!

McDermott might have to work though for his first comeback fight.

Not a lot of big names on his record though are there!!! Also, what was he doing between 2000-2004!

Bennie - any news who Mitchell is due to fight - he is being very badly matched so far, can't see what he is learning in the pro game against those kind of opponents, although the KOs look good for SKY

N'Gou didn't impress against Dave Clarke in his first fight on these shores and it seems Sports Network are looking to get him bumped off. But if he's got anything about him, he could give Danny a test. Danny's over the hill.

Mitchell is fighting a Frenchman, Loynesy. As is Martin Power.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure FW has hyping this N'Gou up a few months back, saying he hit like King Kong etc etc.

I guess when they actualy saw him fight they changed their minds very quickly! :D

i read a while ago Mark Potter article (somewhere)..He spoke about a heavyweight, which I presume is this guy, as someone who could make a few waves, especially amongst the uk scene.

Ah so it IS him! I thought it was when I saw the name at first but for some reason I had Potters guy as only a 4 fight novice.

In actual fact he's a 22 fight novice! :o

They've been trying to improve on his poor stamina haven't they?

Maybe, but lets not forget Danny lost his first fight back with Sports Network. Perhaps SN are confident N'Gou can bump off Williams.

Don't think so Stu. Williams should do a number on him. He's never fought anyone near Danny's class.

Oh yeah, I do agree but maybe SN don't. I'm not writing off Danny Williams yet, I think even now Williams vs Brewester is no forgone conclusion.

Your mate did okay in there against Gammer though Matt, I reckon Zikic is about right for this one. Not especially dangerous but he won't just fall down either.

For me Danny is perhaps the most frustrating fighter currently on the UK scene.
The bloke has everything a top tier heavyweight could want, size, good handspeed, power, and can put his shots together. He can also move when he wants to.
If he could just BELIEVE in himself, he would do well in the desert which is the currect landscape of world heavyweight talent and "champions"
I'm like you stujones..Will not write Danny off yet...but now there can be no more slip ups if he is to deliver what his talent/ability says he should.

I'd read about the 'monster' NGou and when he took part in that press conference at the War Museum, I looked at the picture of Francis, Williams, Sprott and wondered who the massive 50-year-old was on the end. :o

this is an interesting one 8) if williams takes this lightly he could come a cropper cos this guy can punch and we all know of williams dodgy chin.

i fancy williams to do a number on him but i wouldn't rule out a shocker.

N'Gou. Interesting match? If Audley fought this guy everyone would say he was a bum. When Danny fights him people say it's an interesting match.

he could always drop in a low kick or two if the going gets tough....

a definate hit and move mission though
