The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
Mayweather/Maidana looks more probable now. Where does this leave Amir Khan, having dropped out of fights and seemingly protected himself all this time? What's next?

Maidana fight has no intrest to me in slightest im afraid , he doesnt have anything that will trouble mayweather , too small , slow and wont get chance to land any big punches
Edit
PS- im sure my opinion has no effect on the final decision of mayweather though

Khan and Maidana are both cynical matches (albeit MM is more deserving coming off a significant win). With Bradley & Pacman out of the equation I'd rather see Mayweather tackle the Ruskie.
Of course that would mean Floyd taking on the most dangerous guy out there and he has a long history of not doing that.

Alvarez was considered the most dangerous guy out there, at least by most people.Tuan_Jim wrote:Khan and Maidana are both cynical matches (albeit MM is more deserving coming off a significant win). With Bradley & Pacman out of the equation I'd rather see Mayweather tackle the Ruskie.

Not by anyone who understands the agony of fighter's making weight. A big guy like Canelo at 152lb? When that last pound near kills a guy? Come on.
Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
how do you even vote? I've had a look on mayweather site can see where people are leaving comments but no where to actually vote....or do you just comment Khan/Maidana?
Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
maidana wont land a single punch, dont get me wrong, I dont believe for a second khan would beat floyd but at least khan has a chance of winning a few rounds
Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
Won't be surprised if he ends up fighting khan. I may be wrong but would a khan fight not earn more cash due to increased interest in UK?

X2. It will be his easiest fight for a very, very long time. And that's taking into account he is so good, he makes all his fights look easy.......keirw wrote:maidana wont land a single punch, dont get me wrong, I dont believe for a second khan would beat floyd but at least khan has a chance of winning a few rounds

Maidana couldn't hit Mayweather with a handful of gravel.
I have no interest in seeing Marcos being stood on his head.
A fitting end to the Amir story, where he heroically takes a couple of rounds off a showboating, pot-shotting Mayweather before inevitably being worn down at the end & overwhelmed, & a lot of people go "Aw, that Amir, maybe he wasn't so bad after all eh?", however, I have a lot more time for.

On the plus side, the Mayweather signs to fight Maidana, it'll annoy Khan.Gazmac81 wrote:Maidana fight has no intrest to me in slightest im afraid , he doesnt have anything that will trouble mayweather , too small , slow and wont get chance to land any big punches

Especially if it's because it's what fans wanted. Khan wants everybody to love him like they did with Hatton. It annoys him no end he's not had that level of popularity.
Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
the only fights I'd like to see FM involved in are Bradley, Pacquio or some one like GGG
Paulie Malignaggi would give Floyd more trouble than Maidana ffs

Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
Whatever Floyd does is wrong clearly.
Had it been Khan people be crying for Maidana given his win.
Now it looks like Maidana is in the driving seat people are want Prodlovkov.
People saying Maidana is too small? Prod has just won at Light Welter!!!
Prod best win is against Alvarado who has had two life and death struggles against Rios - I think that says where Mike is in the grand scheme of things.
Sure Prod ran Bradley close, but Timothy fought like a crab that night and still definitely won.
Maidana might not be the next Ali, but how is Prod considered better?
Yes I'd like to see Bradley or Pacquiao, but they are engaged - Maidana is surely quite high up in terms of available Welters and Light Middles. Keith Thurman looks fab, but people would say "unproven" if it was him next.
Khan scraped by Maidana and looked awful against a faded Diaz.

Khan's a much better choice. At least he offers lots of speed, Maidana will barely lay a glove on Mayweather.

Exactly. Khan would be a more interesting fight as he's fast and busy. Maidana is made for Mayweather. Most people replying to the post I assume are yanks and they don't really rate Khan. But styles make fights as we all know....THEBUTCH wrote:Khan's a much better choice. At least he offers lots of speed, Maidana will barely lay a glove on Mayweather.
Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
Plus khan has already beaten maidana
Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
Joe cortez beat Maidana, not Khan.
Marcos was fighting 2 men in the ring that night, his opponent and then Amir stood behind him.

Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
Personally with it being a choice between the two, id have definitely preferred Khan.
At least it will be an exciting fight.
Maidana is a fighter I like to watch but he won't land a glove on Mayweather all night. He would be as-well hitting him at the weigh in because its the closest he will get.

Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
No doubt Floyd will get criticised for picking the "easier" option in Maidana (and I do have a tendency to agree with it).... but you know what to do.... get "voting" for Khan.
Maidana is the bigger fight now though for me.... yes I can see Khan causing more problems, but can see why people want Maidana more. Khan got walloped in his last fight against a top ten opponent and looked the most vulnerable I have seen him against Diaz.... even though I agree Khan stylistically could give problems (I even think it is a harder fight than Pacquiao in some ways) - Maidana is far more deserving currently.
Both not great options, but not a lot out there for him for this particularly fight. Keith Thurman, maybe (but a bit green), Shawn Porter? The guy who beat Trout? Cotto 2? Marquez 2? Nothing really appeals beyond Pacquiao and Bradley.

Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
khan doesnt desrve a fight with brook, let alone mayweather. all this shite about khans speed is laughable. the last time he used his speed to good effect was against kotelnik...years ago. mayweather would play with khan, and knock him out when he felt like it. at least maidana is winning, has a chin, and should guarantee that the fight will last more than three rounds. he also deserves the money. khan has constantly sought the easy route, and really needs to earn some kind of ranking by fighting, and beating someone dangerous.
Re: The fans speak, say Maidana and not Khan
I would rather see Khan vs Brook. Mayweather would beat up khan (exactly like the gatti fight) and stop him in a one sided fight, where as i really don't know how good Brook is and Khan would either expose brook as just all hype or Brook would do a number on khan, my gut feeling is khan would expose brook.

Yes, a guy who has fought Maidana, Peterson & Danny Garcia within the space of a couple of years has obviously "constantly sought" the easy route.
Oh no, you're talking utter bollocks with that statement.
