If all of the bouts that he had in his career could be accounted for, I believe that he would without a doubt be the all-time "KO King." He turned pro in 1925!

I'm researching Portland right now and am at the end of July 1933. Fox arrives in Portland during the early part of 1934, I intend to follow him to Spokane after that.

I've entered fight report info from newspapers for his two fights each he had with Fred Lenhart, Young Firpo, and Maxie Rosenbloom, as well as kayo loss to John Henry Lewis.

The sites which i have used are

The Toronto Star - pages of the past

thestar.com ------- approx £4 for 2 days

very good site for ease of use.

newspaperarchive.com ------------approx £8 for the month

mainly covers the USA . the search facility is a bit poor but you get there in the end.

the star has another news archive which I have yet to use but looks like it may be ok. when I sign up i will let you now what its like.

there are 2 other sites I have used and will let you now the web address, cannot remember at the moment.

You may already know about these, but both the New York and London Times have been pretty well indexed for on-line search. NYT can be accessed throughProQest Historical Newspapers back to 1851, and they also link to the London Times index, that I forget the actual name or cite of. I don't know how much it costs to register, but they can be accessed for free at any pretty much any research library.
