It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
It looks like people in the states are not happy with the so called poll that voted for Khan to face Floyd, because of Khan's recent losses, so it could be Mayweather v Maidana and on the undercard Khan v Broner to see who fights Floyd next, this is interesting as Broner does not seem to want to fight Mayweather, whilst everyone and their mothers do, so if he was to beat Khan, he would be pushed in floyd's direction, like it or not, Floyd is smart here, I think he would like to shut up Broner really, especially after Broners " Mayweather took a loss " comment, also Floyd could get to see how Khan does with his "own like" boxing style, Nothing as been signed yet, but it looks like it could be the way forward, especially as Maidana will bring the Mexicans to support him, the only downside is that another two fights will go by with no Pacman match.
Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
Khan did not deserve a mayweather fight. Khan should fight kell brook and get the biggest cheque of his career from Eddie hearn. Khan v Broner would be a good fight to watch as well

I didn't realise Mayweather listened to people. If he did he would have boxed Manny Pac many years ago.
Pacman is going to have to be ancient and totally risk-free if and when Mayweather fights him.
Maybe if Broner and Khan look bad or battle to a draw it could open the door to Pacman. Who knows?

He doesn't. The choice he's so kindly given the people is vanilla or vanilla.Tuan_Jim wrote:I didn't realise Mayweather listened to people.

Because Floyd is a spring chicken himself.Tuan_Jim wrote:I didn't realise Mayweather listened to people. If he did he would have boxed Manny Pac many years ago.

Kell should actually fight for the world title like he's supposed to of done for the last 3/4 years.mullenman wrote:Khan did not deserve a mayweather fight. Khan should fight kell brook and get the biggest cheque of his career from Eddie hearn. Khan v Broner would be a good fight to watch as well

Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
When Mayweather fought Alverez, it was good for boxing and many of us thought Mayweather wanted to finish of his career beating the best out there and cementing his legacy, no so, as this proves, only Pacman, GGG and Martinez would do that.Aden wrote:He doesn't. Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
I think it would be a pretty interesting overall card if they put these two fights on the same bill.

I'd like to see Lara against Canelo first and then if he comes through that then he should be the next opponent for sure.Tanzio wrote:Lara is worthy.Anzi wrote:When Mayweather fought Alverez, it was good for boxing and many of us thought Mayweather wanted to finish of his career beating the best out there and cementing his legacy, no so, as this proves, only Pacman, GGG and Martinez would do that.Aden wrote:

You think Canelo was the best out there? Look, I'm not bothered about the Pac fight now. Mayweather will go down as one of the best ever for me but he is choosy, especially nowadays.Anzi wrote:When Mayweather fought Alverez, it was good for boxing and many of us thought Mayweather wanted to finish of his career beating the best out there and cementing his legacy, no so, as this proves, only Pacman, GGG and Martinez would do that.Aden wrote:He doesn't. Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
I think Floyd gets slighly unfair criticism myself.
Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
Some of it is unfair. Some of it is generated by irrational hate. Some of it is quite legitimate.columbo wrote:I think Floyd gets slighly unfair criticism myself.
Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
Lara is far more qualified than Maidana or Khan, right now. FMJ would silence the vast majority of criticism if he fought him in May.columbo wrote:Tanzio wrote:I'd like to see Lara against Canelo first and then if he comes through that then he should be the next opponent for sure.Anzi wrote: Lara is worthy.
Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
The Pac criticism bugs me as people are saying Floyd is going to wait till Manny is old, blah, blah, blah. Forgetting to take into account the fact that Floyd is older than Pacquaio. I'm guessing the age only matters if you prefer Manny as a fighter though as you ignore the fact that Floyd is pushing 40.Aden wrote:Some of it is unfair. Some of it is generated by irrational hate. True.Aden wrote:Some of it is unfair. Some of it is generated by irrational hate. Some of it is quite legitimate.columbo wrote:I think Floyd gets slighly unfair criticism myself.
If he chooses Khan, it is a monumental blunder on all levels.
Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
I have never been more critical of FMJ than Pac in that drama. I consider it water under the bridge, and I do not consider it the optimum fight out there for FMJ.columbo wrote:The Pac criticism bugs me as people are saying Floyd is going to wait till Manny is old, blah, blah, blah. If he chooses Khan it is an insult to the entire industry and it is a no win situation on all levels for FMJ himself.
Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
its good news....maidana deserves his shot, and both khan and broner get a chance to make their case in a fair and well balanced fight. khan should be able to land on broner at will, but broner looks tough enough to suck it up. two of the biggest shite-talkers in boxing, the pre fight hype will be painful.
Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
I can't understand what is going on with the Kel Brook situation, he sells out arena's in sheffield, has one of the biggest promoter's yet he has somehow missed out on so many world title opportunities i.e Jan Zaveck IBF title, Senchenco WBA Title ( whom he beat in his last fight and who had lost his title a few fights before ), Alexander IBF title and now what's happening with Shaun Porter who took Alexander IBF title, it seems like they are more interested in Khan, which don't make sense, as Khan seems to be otherwise engaged, it's not like Brook would have no chance of winning them is it ? You know how difficult it is to get to a position like he has , then not to take it ?columbo wrote:Kell should actually fight for the world title like he's supposed to of done for the last 3/4 years.mullenman wrote:Khan did not deserve a mayweather fight. Re: It could be Mayweather v Maidana & Khan v Broner ?
Aden, It is easy to look back now and have doubts about Alverez, after the way Mayweather dealt with him, but at the time, he was unbeaten, bigger and stronger then Mayweather, not to mention younger, so it was a big risk, time will tell how good Alverez turns out to be, he is so young.

How facetious. Lennox Lewis was older than Mike Tyson.columbo wrote:The Pac criticism bugs me as people are saying Floyd is going to wait till Manny is old, blah, blah, blah. Forgetting to take into account the fact that Floyd is older than Pacquaio.
Who was the aged, shopworn fighter in that fight?

Anzi... are you aware Alvarez had to drain down to 152?Anzi wrote:Aden, It is easy to look back now and have doubts about Alverez, after the way Mayweather dealt with him, but at the time, he was unbeaten, bigger and stronger then Mayweather, not to mention younger, so it was a big risk, time will tell how good Alverez turns out to be, he is so young.
You're speaking as if Mayweather beat a middle. Calm down. It was another handpicked opponent where everything suited Floyd, as always.

Don't cite ODLH, he set that big payday up himself, not Pacman.
