Eddie "Black Dynamite" Booker, 1930/40s who was also avoided and never got a title shot although a top contender for years. Archie Moore apparently said Booker was one of only two fighters to beat him in his prime and allegedly rated him as the greatest fighter he ever fought. I think Booker was the only fighter to knock Moore out cold, I might be wrong there.

79 fights
======
66 wins (34 KOs)
5 losses (never stopped and avenged 2 of those defeats)
8 draws (2 draws with Archie Moore)
Booker went 44-0 before dropping decisions to Fritizie Zivic and Cocoa Kid.
He knocked out Archie Moore, stopped Harry Matthews (who then went on a 52 fight winning streak before challenging Marciano), beat Lloyd Marshall and Holman Williams.

Re: Eddie Booker
He is one of the most underrated guys, it's a shame about his eye because he seemed to be hitting his prime right when he had to retire. I think he's still outside looking in at the HOF, that's a joke.
