Iain Butcher
Iain Butcher
I interviewed WBO European Champ Iain Butcher ahead of his British title rematch with Kevin Satchell. http://adamhendersonjournalism.wordpres ... rld-title/
A lot of questions raised I think. Will Satchell take the fight and who would win? Can Butcher be a future world champion?

Re: Iain Butcher
Cracking read mate.
Well done.
Well done.
Re: Iain Butcher
Glad to see there is a good chance of a rematch. Butcher was the clear winner of their first fight in my view.

Re: Iain Butcher
I think Ian seems to be an improving fighter and may well learn a lot from the defeat and become better for it, although Kevin IMO won the first fight it would be good to watch again.
Good luck ian

Re: Iain Butcher
I don't see how people think Satchell won the first fight.

Re: Iain Butcher
Clear cut victory for Buthcher the first time round.
Don't think Satchell will take him so lightly next time around.

Re: Iain Butcher
i didnt do an article on teh scoring but every writer i asked on twitter had Butcher winning. I had it 115-112 Butcher, 7-5 in rounds but with extra point for knockdown.
Re: Iain Butcher
Cheers Gary.
Would be interested to hear why you thought Satchell won, Billy? Didn't watch the fight myself but not heard many people agree with the judges.

Re: Iain Butcher
Im not sure TBH,i only knew from the OP,that it was on,id love to see a rematch, there isnt much going on in the Flyweight division so hopefully they can force it,im not sure how many more defences Satchell need for a Lonsdale?Alba wrote:Do you think it will happen, i want to see it but think Satchell will vacate.handsofstone wrote:I had it a draw, couldnt have argued either way

Re: Iain Butcher
He did say he was outworked by Satchell for some of the fight but he thought he got off the better shots. Can't do anything about the result now anyway so just hope he gets the job done in the rematch if it happens. It's not good to have 0 Scots with Lonsdale belts so hopefully him and a few other boys can pick some up in the near future!billy nelson wrote: I spoke with Ian and said i thought he defo went to sleep in the middle rounds and i thought he lost by 3 rounds

Defo and you know what ian is man enough to admit it and he'll become a better fighter for it, its the one who cant admit the error of there ways that wont rise to the topadam426 wrote:He did say he was outworked by Satchell for some of the fight but he thought he got off the better shots. Re: Iain Butcher
You're right there Billy and he's certainly admitted to one or two mistakes but it was his first 12 round fight after all. He said he got his tactics a bit wrong so hopefully there's no problems for him in the rematch. He seems pretty confident about it anyway.billy nelson wrote:Defo and you know what ian is man enough to admit it and he'll become a better fighter for it, its the one who cant admit the error of there ways that wont rise to the topadam426 wrote:He did say he was outworked by Satchell for some of the fight but he thought he got off the better shots. Re: Iain Butcher
I'd not seen Iain box before the Satchell bout but I'd watch him again - what a good boxer, fit and strong and really turns up to win; hope he has a good run of results, he seemed a really good lad.
