BBCs PRESENTATION SKILLS
remember that awesome theme tune on ITV for fight night, what a great song that was, just hearing it was enough toget you hyped and ready for a fight.
the BBCs theme tune is slow, boring and just plain shit. instead of interesting and enlightening previews they use john inverdale and that big lanky goon to chat with bunce and woodhall who was only an average fighter in his day.
the commentary is absolutely shit.
on top of all that they employ all these cheesy, embarrasisng wrestling-styled tactics such as that awful cartoon strip.
do they think we're 10 yrs old.
the whole BBC approach to boxing is absolutely shocking, plus they show all this shitty british mess that would never have been vroadcast on ITV 10 yrs ago.
casual sports fans tune into BBC and see these low quality fighters scrapping in small leisure centres and must think "this is boxing???"
we ITV back, with their great theme tune, quality selection of fights, top notch presentation, previews, and good commentary (well at least jim watt)

Whenever I hear the BBC boxing theme tune I instantly think of Audley Harrison (probably as he's the main reason it exists in the first place) and feel a sense of tragedy at how one day in the not too distant future this big man with so much hope on his shoulders is going to be brutally exposed. It's something about the tune I can't quite put my finger on. It's a bit sad.

This guy is an embarassment to the BBC....I am sure he has talents (ie being ugly) but interviewing isn't one of them.MightyWarrior wrote:Ronald McDonald on the left is a scary looking mother isn't he, especialy when he smiles
How DID he get the job???????????
Even if he had the skills of Michael Parkinson, you wouldn't use him because of his height.
He dwarves all the fighters and this creates problems for the camera angles when he is interviewing, as well as looking ridiculous and making fighters seem 8 weight divisions lower than they actually are.
God forbid he ever has to interview Damaen Kelly....
Woodhall is between 6ft and 6ft 2 and look how much shorter he is in the photo above.......

That comic strip was one of the most cringeworthy things i have ever laid eyes on, i was whinceing throughout. I mean even if it was Roy jones it would be bad but Froch is a novice pro with a bit of talent and they were making him out to be some sort of superhero! He hasn't even fought anyone yet and i'm afraid a few pundits calling him "The most exciting prospect in world Boxing" whcih i haven't heard anyways doesn't mean anything yet. If Dodson sparks him then i think it will be red faces all round ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

I totally agree with evertything you've said. I think it's unfair the way Dodson has been reduced to bit part player in this match. Wasn't Froch originally challenging for dodson's Title? And yet all of a sudden, the match is a foregone conclusion! And what on God's green earth was Bunce talking about "Froch is already a top ten supermiddle!'steve689 wrote:That comic strip was one of the most cringeworthy things i have ever laid eyes on, i was whinceing throughout.
