Witter Calls out Hatton AGAIN!!!

Post by KOJOE90 »

From the BBC

Witter targets Hatton

Junior Witter has offered to end the search for a suitable opponent for Ricky Hatton.
Hatton is due to defend his WBU light welterweight title on 12 June, but original foe Sharmba Mitchell could not agree terms with promoter allegedly.

"Apart from Sharmba Mitchell there is no credible opponent out there for Hatton apart from me," said Witter.

"Maybe Frank knows, as my trainer Brendan Ingle always says, that I would stand Ricky Hatton on his head."

This would be great if it happened but we all know it wont.

That's understandable really, I think the only chance of a Witter - Hatton fight is if Hatton loses and then Witter wins a World title.

WTF - Arturo Gatti, Miguel Cotto, Vivien Harris, Oktay Urkal, Floyd Mayweather, Demarcus Corely, Zab Judah, Kelson Pinto, Paul Sparaforda, Leonard Dorin.

All not credible, according to Witter.

Hatton doesn't want to give Witter a shot, because of the way Junior has gone about trying to get a shot. Witter has constantly cussed Hatton, but never backed it up, and earnt a chance by beating good opposition.

However if Hatton fights another Pedersen, he's going to get slaughted by fight fans. Unless they have some how got someone good lined up, Now is the time to activate his Witter fight clause, which states that Hatton can fight Witter when ever he likes to, and Warren has to do the fight.

yeah, they dont hesitate to stop fights cos of cuts etc... but their refs tend to watch alot more punishment than british refs do before jumping in. strange.

i have spoken to ricky about it:

I had a clause put in my contract that at anytime I wanted I could have the fight, and that was one of the main reasons why I signed with Frank.

Adam - not trying to be argumentative mate but no decent lawyer would draft a contract with such a clause in it. Unless Junior Witter has countersigned the contract it has no legal meaning as it would be utterly meaningless in law - you can't impose obligations on a third party (i.e. Junior Witter to fight Ricky) unless that person has agreed to it.

obviously witter aint gonna be forced into it. But Warren has to try and make the fight...i dont know what stops him from giving Witter a shitty offer though, which he knows will be rejected so the fight doesn't happen.
