Vlad.....is this a trick question? Davey Moore and SRL seemed to make a meal of him. Do you suspect a style issue to pose a problem for Roberto, or is this with Roberto fighting after a drinking binge or drugged? At each their best....I don't see this as anything other than win for Roberto....in any number of ways.

This is not to say that Ayub was anything but a first class competitor....but you just stuck him in the ring with Robert Duran.

Makes sense. I'd give them both the benefit of their best outings during the general time period maybe. And use that even if it crosses years. If you take the fat and out of shape version, or simply uninspired Duran your going to change the equation. But I think you'd have to say it would be Duran's to lose here.

Assuming they both were motivated and going after it puts the best perspective on it.

Kalule was a good fighter and probably underrated. But he's just outmatched here. Being " good" isn't enough to make anyone a favorite against a man who in most people's eyes is a top 10 p4p ATG..

Yep you've got to hobble Duran somehow, or make it certain real time aspects vs prime for prime to make this competitive.

Top 10 P4P ATG true.
But we're not talking P4P here. Just who would win, presumably at 154 lbs. where Duran was very good but not an ATG.
Duran might be the favorite according to the oddsmakers (albeit close) but Kalule definitely could win this one.

While I wouldn't put money on that outcome, and would expect Roberto to kill him, what you're saying isn't out of the question. Duran dropped decisions to guys like Robbie Sims and Kirkland Lang within close proximity to the time that a fight with Kalule Likely would have taken place.

Let's say if it is the Hands of Stone that destroyed Davey Moore in 1983, I do not see Ayub Kalule beating him. To beat Roberto at that time of his career, and at that weight class, you had to move and box. You cannot stay in front of him. Plus, you gotta be faster and exceptional.

Even though that was not the Hands of Stone best weight class (154lbs and up), I do not see someone like Kalule do the job.
