Gallagher might get a job with Tony Blair as a middle east peace envoy the stuff he can say without laughing out loud, (good trainer though).

Hmm very weird! Kugan has made the video private. Wonder why that is! Couldnt be because Eddie is gonna be upset that Joe said that Stephen Smith and Callum Smith are off the card with injury perhaps.

Who knows? The way he was talking it sounded like Paul's fight was up in the air too. Also, did you take away that Crolla IS going to be Ricky's voluntary (should he win tonight) or that he hopes Crolla will be the voluntary?

I think he meant voluntary although Crolla is getting up there in the rankings. It's not a fight that interests me in the slightest but I probably wouldnt begrudge Burns too much if he took it if he get's through tonights fight

I don't mean that. I mean do you think they've been told that fight is on if Burns win and he's let the cat out of the bag; or that he's throwing Crolla's name in the mix?

I couldnt tell to be honest! Maybe wishful thinking of Gallaghers behalf! Could be why the video has been pulled perhaps though.

I have absolutely no interest in the Burns/Crolla fight,no disrespect to Crolla but he failed to win the Commonwealth title against Mathews a couple fights ago(although i though he should,ve got it) and he was fortunate against Rees, and maybe if Burns had just won his title then i would accept him taking the Crolla fight but he,s been champ for a few years now and should be fighting Ring/Transnational(or whatever their called) top 10 ranked opponents constantly from now on

He,s had his "easy" fights, are these unifications ever gonna happen if he comes through tonight :??

Ricky should be looking at unification fights if he beats Crawford and you're right about Crolla, nice lad, but he isn't world class, Stephen Ormond has just as much right to a world title fight as him, and that's none.

Saw the interview. He doesn't fancy the Murray fight for crolla one bit. Can't see that Murray losing to Mitchell and rios is comparable to being sparked by derry Matthews. ..

Seen Terry a few times & he has yet to have a coming out fight, but for me I think people are overrating him.

Gallagher has been known to talk rubbish so take it with a pinch of salt. He's pissed off that bbboc havemt licensed smith to fight Webb. He tells Murray to get to the back of the que as doesn't deserve Crolla but then thinks Paul smith deserves a world title shot. He talks absolute nonsense sometimes and I'm a fan of his. Callum and Stephen both hinted on twitter that they'd been training at the weekend so don't think they are injured

He said that Both Callum and Stephen are injured and he's pulled them from the card. Paul might not be fighting either because his fight wasnt sanctioned.

God this bill is going to be dire if this is the case. Was at least hoping for Callum to get more rounds in and Stephen had someone not too bad as his opponent.

Brook or Mitchell haven't even had opponents named yet with less than two weeks to go. Fielding now v TBA

Whilst Bellews opponent for me is OK as a first at cruiser after being pasted in his last fight, its not a legit headliner for sky IMO, where as Smith v Fielding would have had the City buzzing and made good tv too.

Regardless of pull outs and unsanctioned this is very poor stuff from matchroom and sky.

Can anyone please explain the stumbling block in getting the Smith/Fielding unification fight on :??

It should be the easiest fight to make in boxing, both are champions, both are on the bill anyway, their both Scousers, plenty fans there, its a sell out

Why :witzend: Is Smith waiting for the Ward fight to come off ;;-)

There's nothing for Smith to gain from a Fielding fight. Way too risky - a defeat puts him into retirement. I'm sure he's trying to find an opening for some kind of International or Silver belt.

He would be gaining a Commonwealth title and fighting a local rival in his home city at a packed out arena,i thought thats what boxers wanted, the big fights and the glory

Dont get me wrong i agree with you about the reasoning but it just shows you whats wrong with boxing when fighters turn down concrete title oppurtunities to wait on fights maybe coming off,Paul Smith has no divine right to be fighting for a European title let alone world honours likewhat his team are mooting

If Fielding is willing to fight then maybe he,s made from sterner stuff than Smith, coz lets be honest their on the same level at the moment

If Smith does want to go down the International/Intercontinental route fighting Argies to get a ranking, fair enough but give the fans what they demand first i say :box:
