Both very overrated on this forum but I'd pick Dokes on points if he showed up. Tucker was more consistent but he always looked better on paper, in real life he was often underwhelming.

Michael Dokes fought better competition than Tony Tucker did. In addition, he had tremendous handspeed, something with Tony didn't have, and had a certain degree of toughness that Tony didn't have.Prime-per-Prime, Dokes is slightly better.Dynamite just edges TNT in a 12, or 15 rounder, by UD.

Agreed.

Tucker was out boxed in the early to mid rounds by James Douglas before Buster gassed and quit. Dokes had hand speed, stamina to go 15 rounds and the experience of facing better opponents. Tucker was durable and had good skills, but he was relatively non aggressive and often played it safe. His KO percentage is misleading too. Lot's of tomato cans on that record.
