Butler v Nieva RBR

Post by handsofstone »

Any viewers watching Allegedly tonight? Ryan Farrag just stopped Jason Booth in 4. Good opponent to get first KO over. Had him down and nearly out in first with overhand right, same punch ended fight. John Thain/Ronnie Heffron next

I didnt score the fight, but i thought Heffron was getting it,close and competitive couldnt really argue either way

Im not usually keen on watching Thain fight but that was a good clash of styles

Did anyone else think Satchell doesn't want the fight with Butcher? Saying after this they'll see if they want to defend again or move on to the world honours. He has quite a high boxrec rank, but what are his organization rankings like? Close to mandatory?

Just what I was thinking mate. It seems a "low budget" sort of show from Warren, but the ticket sales look poor

Is Tom Stalker on this show ? He sells hundreds of tickets and I thought Fwank was pretty much building this Liverpool show around his ticket selling ability (with Satchell and Butler too obviously)

He maybe doesn't want it. I thought he lost to Butcher clearly. But it wouldn't be a bad move a rematch.

Talk of world honours is very premature at this stage. The top flyweights are very experienced and he's just not ready for them.

Satchell isn't ranked by any of the world bodies and the Flyweight division is ridiculously tough...if he thinks he's getting close to a world title he is massively mistaken

I know it's a tough division, but that's what he said probably better to try and go for a world ranked opponent than lose to Butcher (again)

Why does Burdis always mention the corner's colour when announcing the winner? It is very anticlimactic.

Does he really think everyone knows the colour of the corner for each fighter? He's useless.

Liam Smith vs Heffron would be a good all action fight. If Thain had power he'd go places.

Go through the world ranked guys...how many would you:
Think would come over here?
Think would be beaten by Satchell?

A quick look at them would suggest maybe only a handful...and Warren wouldn't put up the money to draw them over. Interestingly Butcher IS world ranked by the WBO.

Butcher holds the WBO European title hence his ranking

Christ almighty that was dire, totally forgettable, nothing memorable happened whatsoever,a 12 round championship fight and not a single meaningful punch landed by either man

118-110 Satchell

Rematch anyone? :P
