Who do you want to win?
Who do you want to win?
This is nothing about who you think will win, just who you WANT to win. Which fighter would you like to see have their hand held high at the end of the fight?
Re: Who do you want to win?
Froch. I know all the traffic is going the other way, but I just can't get along with Groves.

Re: Who do you want to win?
Can't say I like either of them, double knockout would be perfect.
Re: Who do you want to win?
If Froch loses then he will be gunning for a rematch. Cannot see him retiring on a loss.
Re: Who do you want to win?
Even though I'm a Londoner...
Never rooted against Froch before and won't start now. Nothing he's done has been that bad and everyone just seems to be grasping for a villain. All that's happened is that Groves has tried to wind him up and, what do you know? He's wound him up. Froch isn't very good on the counter wind up, so he looks stupid. They seem to have brought his brother in as a sort of annoying family figure, like Guerrero's Dad or Garcia's old man, who both do a lot of talking while their fighter can be quiet, but that's a bad move too. Froch can't really do anything right. Groves just sends him nuts. He keeps on touching his nose or his ears to reassure himself. I kind of feel bad for him. I actually think he'll lose this time, and I do think George is a good fighter... Surprised me a lot last time as I thought he was way out of his depth. And against anybody else I would support George.
But yeah. Froch all the way.

Really don't care.
So long as it's a good fight, and the best man wins it.

Agree 100%. As British boxing careers go, Groves has done well, and will hopefully stay in and around world level, but Froch is top 3 for the last decade. And to be there for the Bute fight just makes it hard to root against him because that was such a great performance and an amazing atmosphere.clopixolacuphase wrote:Even though I'm a Londoner...

Has to be groves, someone to carry the flag for a few years. He also has great courage for a guy his age. I do however think froch will win and 2 losses for a guy in his mid twenties will not be good in this era of boxing.

Re: Who do you want to win?
I think it's healthier for British boxing if Groves comes out the winner, a natural changing of the guard...

Froch...although I have nothing against Groves.
Re: Who do you want to win?
Funny how your all saying froch but the poll says groves lmfao
Re: Who do you want to win?
I'm saying groves, I like both men, but I want to see the smug froch's face (and his brothers face) once groves has knocked him spark out !!the truth wrote:Funny how your all saying froch but the poll says groves lmfao

Well the 60-80,000 that will be at Wembley on the 31st May along with all those who will buy the PPV. Ward couldn't sell out Wembley arena never mind Wembley Stadium!ThereByTheGrace wrote:They are both Andre Ward's bitches so who gives an eff!

Froch.
I'm not a super fan of his but I dislike Groves. I thought he was alright when he turned pro but the more time he spent with Booth and Haye the more of a smug git he became.

Re: Who do you want to win?
Outside Oakland he can't, but if he fights there he can pull in 8-9,000, probably more for a big fight.jessi wrote:Ward can't sell a ticket.ThereByTheGrace wrote:They are both Andre Ward's bitches so who gives an eff!

I don't think Groves has done anything wrong really and cannot see why people dislike him. He has negotiated himself into a great position. He will be set up for life with this pay day and has not been disrespectful to anyone. Carl has shown a lot of arrogance in the build up to both fights.

Re: Who do you want to win?
I usually want to see the younger fighter come through in situations like this, its good for the future of the sport. That said, the way some of Groves' fans have whined post fight and the way supposed boxing fans used the situation to lay in to Froch has been disappointing to see. Froch has given British boxing some fantastic nights and mixed at world level for years now. He might come across as a bit of a dick now and then, but the hate he has recieved post Groves has been sad to see. If Groves ends up with half the resume Froch has he will have done well, but already people seem desperate to fast track him to a status he really hasnt earned..... Don't really mind who wins, but it would be kind've fun to see the back tracking and revisionism some people would do on here if Froch ended up stopping him late.
Re: Who do you want to win?
Agree with every word. Froch has come up the hard way, winning the Lonsdale outright and fighting everyone in such a tough division to become 4 time world champion. The fact he has limited ability amplifies his achievements as he's done it mostly on heart and determination. He's tough as nails and makes me proud that he's British. Yet it seems the majority of fans now hate himCheckHook wrote:I usually want to see the younger fighter come through in situations like this, its good for the future of the sport.
