Whatever happens DeGale needs to take a look at where he's going with his career, dropped two promoters now, 6 years on from the Olympics he hasn't fought for a world title, lackluster performances and despite the changes outside the ring, he's still with McDonnell, who's the one part of his team people have thought he should change.

With DeGale looking likely to become IBF mandatory Eddie would snap him up in a heartbeat i imagine, keep the $$$ in house.

I believe he could still come out on top of the whole Groves/Froch saga, he certainly has the abillity and the hunger after sitting on the sidelines would definitely be there.

I dunno. I've watched a fair few of his interviews over the last 12/18 months and he seems a lot more down to earth these days. You very rarely hear him running his mouth anymore either. Also, from people that have met him or know him personally, they say he's a very nice guy.

DeGale's going down the WBC route with Chavez Jr fighting Golovkin, although I believe the IBF is an option as well. If DeGale's smart he'll wait and see who wins first before signing with anyone, if Groves wins, Hearn isn't necessarily needed because both would be free agents, but if Froch wins, then he might as well sign with him to guarantee the fight.

Isn't he the Mandatory for Bike now? Sure I heard the other day he had been made it. He beats Bika for me, so I can definitely see Matchroom being very interested in having a World Champion super middleweight, especially if Eddie takes into account Froch can lose to Groves and Groves takes the belt elsewhere.

If he wins they will be interested, but I get the feeling Groves will be the fight DeGale's after if he wins a world title and I don't know whether or not Matchroom will be a block to that, Groves doesn't seem particularly keen on working with them, or with any other promoters for that matter. It's the sort of fight that doesn't necessarily need a major promoter, if they can get a good TV deal, ticket sales shouldn't be a problem regardless.

The promoter plays a part in making someone a ticket seller though. People were saying Kell Brook wasn't a ticket seller when he went over to Matchroom.

Degale seemed to be gaining popularity until the Groves fight, which obviously turned him into a bit of a villain. With some exposure and high profile wins they can probably get him back on track. He was never going to be a big ticket seller fighting no name opponents out in Bluewater without any other big names on the bill.

DeGale won an Olympic gold medal, topped the bill in front of 20,000 people in his home city, boxed on big shows all over the country, almost all of his fights have been televised, some of those on Terrestrial TV, plus coverage in national newspapers and other national media, he's had more exposure than most fighters could ever dream of, but he's struggling to half fill the arena, which isn't that big to start with, in European title fights and world title eliminators.

DeGale is a fantastic boxer and will do well, injury free he ought to hit harder and be more urgent about making a spectacle. Though he has some great achievements already he is not a headline performer (yet) and to get bums on seats needs someone with a similar level of support and to talk it all up. I imagine that all the work done in training and prep will stand him in good stead when he gets a shot. He needed taking down a peg but it didn't ought to have ruined him, there's plenty of people not as good as him who think they're chocolate.

He used to be a complete tit,but i think he's grown up a bit now,still can't get excited about his boxing style, he just seems to have made little progression since he fought Groves and his fights bore me too tears.
