Even though I am a Mundine fan. What are your Predictions?

Tumbleweeds! Lol Clottey has been very inactive, and sounds basically on the cusp of retirement. Even at his peak he only had moderate power. Mundine by decision.

Mundine will be too big, taller and, faster and has much more recent ring activity than Clottey. Clottey only has had one fight in two and a half years, and continues the form line of Mundine who finds big name fighters past their best, eg. Shane Mosley and his achy-breaky back.

Clotty was a pretty decent fighter in his heyday, but with only one victory since 2011 – and that over a guy with an average record – one gets the impression that his trip to Newcastle is just a nice little earner for his retirement fund.

How did you arrive at that conclusion? Clottey is a career welterweight who has seen better days. Mundine will enter the ring the much bigger man and should dominate him.

I thought Choc looked worse than usual at the weigh in. Very gaunt and absolutely no colour in him. Throughout the first few rounds he seemed to have nothing on his punches and his speed was not there. Age and weight deprivation have caught up with him. All credit to Clottey though. Great body work, and combinations.
Stunned how a judge found Clottey losing 5 rounds.

He really hasn't looked very good since dropping from 168 IMO.

I was surprised that Choc didn't use his ring craft to turn Clotty and try to upset his rhythm and timing. He basically let him have his way with him and kept doing the things that weren't working. It really didn't look like they had done their homework on him. Having said that Choc was clearly gaunt and not suited at that weight.

Hopefully this will stop his nonsense about fighting Mayweather

he is simply not world class anymore and i think there is an argument that any world class fighter he faced -he got beat

Hopefully now Choc hangs up the gloves and accepts that he is no longer relevant on the world scene.

I for one wish him the best but it was a creer wasted to me. He could have fought much better opponent in his prime but didnt.

I wont be missing the terrible Boxa PPV undercards. With te exception of Pitt v Aloua last nights undercard was terrible. I dont understand why young aussie fighters face bums until they have a record of 18-0, then wonder why the get beat by some US journeyman when they try to step up so to speak. Eg Hammonds record is essentially a career of sparring without head gear,

I for one underestimated Clotty last night based on his lack of recent activity, but he has performed a public service in deflating Mundine's ego and hubris.

Mundine sinned against his talent, when he could have stepped up much earlier, and had the support of the Australian public behind him. That old devil time caught up with him, while he fiddled his career away fighting palookas and talking jive and getting many off-side.

Talk about further money fights with Green and Geale is a nonsense. If Mundine is fair dinkum about fighting Danny, let it be at catch-weights, and see how long it lasts. Daniel will stop Mundine if there is ever a third bout.

Hopefully Boxa will now take down it's promoters shingle, as they far too often produced pitiful excuses of undercards, with lop-sided bouts and quick finishes.

Not sure what hubris means but I sort of agree with what u say otherwise. It was always a stupid decision to come down in weight IMO. Never understood it. He never really had his career defining fight. His Dad took on Carlos Monzon in Argentina. Lionel fought Olivares on the states and Harada in Japan. Anthony could have fought Kessler at SM as the champion but didn't. There went his respect.

and for what its worth thought the first fight with geale was a legit win.
he's definitely got a few solid wins, but I would agree it could have been so much better

I thought he lost the first fight against Geale, and if I didn't understand the "Boxa" influence I would have been surprised at the scorecards. I may be in the minority here, but that's how I saw it.I didn't waste my cash on PPV, but won a hungy betting on Clottey!

I finally got around to watching the fight and I have to say Mundine looked fornicating terrible not just because of who he was facing but he didn't look sharp or that fast. The technique didn't seem to be there for him either. Clottey looked tough and rugged and extremely fit.

Was great to see him showing some real heart as well especially when he refused to let his corner stop it, there are a lot of other fighters who would of taken that way out knowing they had the excuse of 'I didn't wanna quit but my corner stopped it'.
