I would like to know how good was Alan Minter like you analyzed Sugar Ray Seales? Style, skills, right jab, left hand, power, strength, durability, footwork, speed, body attack, defense and chin.

hhmmmm

minter is an interesting guy. he had a certain crude ability at that time (1972) and really ought to have won gold. as a pro he started to develop his best fighting style quite late in his career - after years of duking it out with guys and rough housing his way to decisions, often getting cut to pieces in the process, alan discovered he could be very effective on the back foot while still maintaining his usual level of aggression. this brought him the top prize in his division and he looked very good doing it. ultimately he was overwhelmed by hagler but he continued to be a very good and highly competitive middleweight until the younger guns such as Sibson made their mark.

The 'loss' to Alan Minter knocked him out a bout with Carlos Monzon for February 1977.

Ray Seales said that nobody ever hit him harder with one-punch {short left-hand to the jaw} than Alan Minter.

Minter? With his arm punches?
