Mattysse vs Molina Spoiler
First time I've ever seen John fight talk about durable and with some power too. Great fight although he was shipping far too much in the end and was thought it was callous to send him out for the 11th when he was finished after 2nd Kd. (1st Kd was a clear shove for me too)

Just watched it & came on to post the same. Brilliant fight, in fact fight of the year so far for me, real war of attrition. Agree Molina shouldn't have been sent out for the 11th tho, he was done.Final round wrote:First time I've ever seen John fight talk about durable and with some power too. Preferred Rosas Vs Guerrero but it's in the top 5 for the year so far.

Yeah spine tingling savagery in the earlier rounds but when Lucas started finding distance and putting punches together he knocked the fight out of himBoxerbeetle123 wrote:Just watched it & came on to post the same. Re: Mattysse vs Molina Spoiler
Absolutely AMAZING fight, unbelievable attrition by both warriors, I couldn't believe the shots Molina was taking !
Mattysse is one of the world's hardest punchers, and yet Molina, who'd been KO'd inside a round at 135, was taking them until the end. Incredible.
A shame the idiot Joe Goossen was allowed to send him out for the last round - the doc was right to tell to shut up, but should have stood up to him, as Goossen is one of the bravest corner men around & gambles with his fighter's life just because Diego once pulled off a miracle.
What a fighter Molina is, really hope he comes back from that and gets another shot. And Mattysse is increíble.

Re: Mattysse vs Molina Spoiler
IMO one the best fight's fights iv'e ever seen, every round better than the last,if i was to ever try get a non-boxing fan into the sport then that would one the first fight's i'd show them, epic stuff, i never knew Molina Jr had that in him, epecially after seeing get blown away in 30 seconds by Antonio DeMarco down at LW
Re: Mattysse vs Molina Spoiler
Agree with all of the above. Great fight that makes staying up into the wee hours well worth it.
Re: Mattysse vs Molina Spoiler
That was a really good fight, lots of guts and hardness shown. I don't think I've watched a more basic champion than Molina though; did he move his head once?
Apart from that both men deserve medals

Just watched it. Think a British ref would have stopped it much sooner.
Re: Mattysse vs Molina Spoiler
I'm glad it wasn't; it was a world title fight with a lot at stake, those 2 are not normal men, they are there to fight hard.Terminator666 wrote:Just watched it. Think a British ref would have stopped it much sooner.

Sorry
it was for an international belt, I thought I'd heard the announcer say wbc blah blah; they both fought like it meant the world.

Molina just soaked it up! Spot on about Goosen. Look after your fighter ffs who just turned in a career launching performanceMightyWarrior wrote:Absolutely AMAZING fight, unbelievable attrition by both warriors, I couldn't believe the shots Molina was taking !

Re: Mattysse vs Molina Spoiler
In faireness Molina's wins over Lundy and Bey should have launched his career and the one over Williams was pretty solid. Seems to blow hot and cold but he'll always be fun. Like Provodnikov ESPN really did him big favours in becoming known.Final round wrote:Molina just soaked it up! Spot on about Goosen. Fantastic fight as everyone's saying. I didn't expect it as I've never seen Molina before but I'll definitely be keeping an eye on him now! Brightened up my Sunday morning!

Superb from both fighters. Molina can come again he must have some serious power at this weight as he hurt Matthysse more than anyone else ever had.

Just seen replay on BT sports.
Great scrap.
Also liked BT sport. Dempsey, Christie and Leach gave good insight with no trace of cheer leading. Was refreshing
