Possible Errors/Omissions: World Title Fights 1962-72 & 1997

...... Emile Griffith fought Jorge Jose Fernandez for the WBC welterweight title on 1962-12-08. I do not understand how this is possible because the WBC did not form until 1963. February 14, 1963 to be exact.

(2) According to the same list: http://boxrec.com/title_search.php?titl ... o&pageID=3

...... there is no mention of the fight between Curtis Cokes and Manuel Gonzalez on 1966-08-24. Surely this fight was for the "vacant WBC welterweight title".

The previous WBC title holder had been Emile Griffith but he vacated both the WBC and WBA titles after defending them against Gonzalez on 1965-12-10.

If the fight between Cokes and Gonzalez was not for the "vacant WBC welterweight title", it means the fight between Cokes and Jean Josselin on 1966-11-28 must have been instead.

However, there is no use of the word "vacant" in regards to the "WBC welterweight title" fight between Cokes and Josselin on either profile (see below):

An error/omission has definitely been made somewhere.

...... the fight between Ernie Terrell and Eddie Machen on 1965-03-05 was the first time the WBA World heavyweight title was contested.

Surely the two fights between Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson (1962-09-25 and 1963-07-22) and the first fight between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston (1964-02-25) were also for the WBA World heavyweight title.

...... the fight between Joe Frazier and Jimmy Ellis on 1970-02-16 was the first time the WBC heavyweight title was contested.

Surely the second fight between Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson (1963-07-22), the first fight between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston (1964-02-25) and the nine subsequent title defences by Muhammad Ali between 1965-05-25 and 1967-03-22 were also for the WBC heavyweight title.

(5) On the profile pages of Ken Buchanan and Ruben Navarro, shouldn't their fight on 1971-02-12 be described as being for the "vacant WBC lightweight title" and not simply for the "WBC lightweight title". See below:

The title had been vacant since Ismael Laguna was stripped following his defence against Guts Ishimatsu on 1970-06-06.

(6) On the profile pages of Betulio Gonzalez and Socrates Batoto, shouldn't their fight on 1972-06-03 be described as being for the "vacant WBC flyweight title" and not simply the "WBC flyweight title". See below:

(7) On the profile pages of Mauricio Pastrana and Manuel Jesus Herrera, shouldn't their fight on 1997-12-13 be described as being for the "vacant IBF light flyweight title" and not simply the "IBF light flyweight title". See below:
