A fighter this talented needs exposure! is he destined to be another Carl Froch (Not getting recognised until he is a seasoned world level campaigner)?
I think he is pure quality but is fighting on crap shows killing his motivation? look at how Lee Selby is being built up! Frankie should be leaps and bounds ahead of him! Selby knocks out Stephen Smith and is suddenly the second coming of Mayweather but Gavin cleans up the domestic WW division but is ultimately a forgotten man.

He'll be quite content if he ends up another Carl Froch. Yes, he's lost time through his own actions but winning the European title, more or less at home, would be a major step in the right direction. Selby was only the new Mayweather in Adam Smiths head, in fact I would favour Stephen Smith to win a world title over him.

On a related note I see that a fighter named Kevin Hodkinson from Liverpool is having his 2nd fight on the undercard. Anyone know if he's related to Hoko, who was one of my favourites back in the day.

I would assume by Gavin, Bundu's a decent fighter but he's 39 and doesn't have the speed or power to trouble Frankie, it won't be easy, but I can see him winning comfortably.

I think Kevin is Paul's son, there's a few like that turning over at the moment, Michael Gomez and Eamonn Magee's sons have both gone pro as well.

IMO Frankie's problem is that he is, style wise, a bit....dull. He's skilled as hell but so very, very unexciting. I dare say a lot of it comes so easily in the ring to him that he probably doesn't realise how boring it is to watch for many fans.

He won't win a world title. Sorry. He is in a very talent rich division, patently lacks punch power even at Brit-Euro level and whilst sometimes (and far from always) appears a fluid performer I'm afraid he hasn't got the sufficient skill set to get past the entrenched Top tenners regardless of his lack of dig. I'd take Berto to stop him and he's waaaay off the elite level. JMM could school him if he was 50.

Yeah, Zammo won - I only know because somebody posted a link to the fight on Youtube (on this site I think) a few months ago, it was a good fight.

You hear a lot about "celebs" who are ex-boxers etc. but he looked a good kid.

Think Gavin has been moved at the right pace. If he was on matchroom he could of got slung in & beat in boxings strongest division.
He's boxed a good calibre of opponent & is a legitimate 12rd fighter

He's on the long road isn't he? Compare him to the rest of the class of '08 (ok I know he didn't actually go to the Olympics) but I think he hasn't made as much progress as you would expect from an amateur world champion.

He is no way is destined to be another Carl Froch. He is nowhere near as determined as Froch has been throughout his career (ie always dead on weight, in great shape, 100% committed). Great talent though
