Luke Blackledge win in Birmingham on Maxwell undercard

Post by matko »

Luke Blackledge scored his 2nd win since his Rocky fielding loss stopping Darren McKenna at Aston Villa on Max Maxwell farewell fight in a 6 round fight which was made 4 due to large bill!!
In the fight Luke dropped McKenna (who was coming off 2 wins 1 by stoppage to 2 unbeaten fighters)heavy at the end of the 1st were the bell rang had it not he may of stayed down as in between rounds he was overheard complaining his rib was broke. He then gave a great effort but was always coming off 2nd in exchanges then in the 3rd round a slip right hand caught him dropping him heavy in the 3rd round scoring a stoppage!!

Great news for Luke who has such a great story if you get to know him and also his manager Steve Wood who is 1 of the hardest working managers in the country keeping boxing alive in the north west. Here's a short interview with short clip of the knockdown and finishing shot too. Enjoy

I agree, the Rocky result was misleading, he was hanging over the ropes when he got hit.
