I have to say that it's highly unprofessional of a man like Jim Brady to make his personal feelings about Floyd Mayweather known in an article which should have been reflecting how the fight really went.

It was clear from the outset that he does not like Floyd, but the way he went about it was wrong.

Boxing news is going downhill in my opinion because they seem to be no longer independent. I mean, we know SN don't get along with BN, so will SN's fighters get a fair deal? I don't know.

Jim Brady is a dodgy writer at the best of times.

Seems like a pudendum to me.

I think Mayweather is a very technically proficient boxer. Better than Roy Jones (of present). I mean he boxes with his hands up, and there aren't many flaws. He tries to say Mayweather has many flaws, that is daft.

I read this article a couple of hours ago and KNEW that Southpaw would make a post about it. 8) 8)

I don't think Brady does like Floyd at all. I remember reading some nonsense from him after the disappointing display against Rios, where Brady asks "How long are we supposed to consider Mayweather a top prospect?". Floyd had only a few months earlier battered Diego friggin Corrales for gods sake, his prospect days were long gone already.

Brady's a weak link. To be honest, I don't know why Claude perseveres with him. There's a dozen better American writers posting on the current scene forum.

Undoubtedly Mayweather has some'issues' he should deal with but at the same time I get the impression that he is in essence a ok guy. What is beyond dispute is that he is an excellent boxer, the best p4p today imo and Brady unfortunately is not the best writer even in his division.
This is a guy who has criticised Arturo Gatti in his last couple of fights for being boring!.... he also criticised Hasim Rhaman for quitting against Holifield due to that horrendous swelling on his forehead. Bradys writing often seems misguided and based on personal biase and this adds to the overall unproffessional and sensationalist tone that has come into Boxing News over the past couple of years.... I like Claude Abrams but fear he and BN have lost their way....... something is wrong on the paper and it's bringing it down imo. 8)

Brady's got carte blanche to write what he likes because he sits on his butt at home and does the fight reports, he isn't actually a roving reporter. A BN senior member of staff said if Brady was to go to all the shows he'd get lynched!

Yes, he reports off the TV. He bangs out his reports as the fights are taking place, to give, what he feels, is an accurate round-by-round account of the fights. But it just comes across as garbled.

Yeap, what I detest more than most things is a journalist who quite obviously writes articles that are biased. It's one thing taking a dislike to a person but when you are supposed to be reporting objectively on a sport you should remain impartial and report on their sporting ability and nothing else. I saw too much of it on Lennox Lewis over the years.

I do like Brady's truculent attitude occasionally but he seems full of bile at the moment. He is ALWAYS slagging someone or other and has a totally disrespectful view on many fighters. I loathe it when he calls mediocre fighters 'bums' or the classic 'ambulatory punching bags'.

Yeah, call them when they are, but Brady has a pop at anyone who isn't top drawer. And sometimes, as pointed out, even then...

Yes, I wondered how he reported the fights because in one edition, he covered two bills on the same night.

If I get a big enough satellite dish, I wouldn't mind a crack at that job!

Brady is just terrible, I can't bring myself to read anything he writes - full of cliches and gives you a headache trying to get through it.

Every jab is a "harpoon"
Every time a punch lands "the crowd screams"
Every time a boxer is hurt he's like a "drunken sailor"
Or if he's Mexican he's usualy refered to as having too much tequila.

He's a typical American red neck racist when it comes to Mexican fighters ( that's still acceptable in the USA ).

He obviously sees himself as a modern day Jim Garrison with his "exposes" too - trouble is, his writing is so bad hardly anyone can understand what he's going on about.

There's plenty of porn on there, but I haven't got a smart card - I swear!! Tuned into an East Euro station ONCE, that was unscrambled and showing porn, but the women had more hair than the men. Yikes!

No way to get HBO over here as yet - their satellite just doesn't cover Europe. Could do in the future, if they bounce it off a few Euro satellites, or something like that.

Graham Houston is the best. He's not normal (Malcolm Meredith once said he would report on a fight between two dogs), but he's still the best.
