The brother of former world boxing champion Naseem Hamed escaped a jail sentence today for taking the law into his own hands when he believed a man had stolen a car from his family.
Murad Hamed, 25, walked free from Sheffield Crown Court where he was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service.
He was also fined over £1,000 in compensation and costs.
Hamed pleaded guilty to affray after the incident in June last year, in which he chased the innocent motorist across Sheffield before pulling him from his car and punching and kicking him.
Outside court he said "I was happy with the outcome, I felt as though the judge acted responsibly towards the case and I'm happy with doing 150 hours community service. I apologise to the victims in this case and we're happy with everything. We'll be paying the fine and hopefully it won't happen again."
Hamed gets away with it...
