Porter/Brook random drug testing still hasnt occured

Post by lefty »

Pretty shoddy all round from both teams. DLH should of made sure this shit was in place properly (although im not sure he knows wtf he's doing now that Schaefer has gone) and Eddie should of made sure it was set in stone happening http://www.BS.com/porter-brook ... ght--80425 ..... It's kind of pointless now if they do start testing as if either man were on anything id imagine they'd be tapering off of it now with the fight so near.

Why has this issue become a big deal for this fight? I guess I haven't been following it...

Because Malignaggi insinuated that Porter was on the juice after getting his arse handed to him. That's about it. So now if Porter beats Brook the win wont mean anything as certain people have already got it in their heads that he's juicing although he's never tested positive or their been accusations before this. Also he works with Victor Conte now (just like Andre Ward) so automatically he must be on something because of Conte's past history.

I'm always suspicious of that shower, Conte/Ariza etc but if Brook is worried Eddie should be doing something about, or perhaps should have done something about it.

In my opinion, Porter looked off his tits in the last fight.

It doesn't really matter once your a big star and can afford the best drugs and top pharmaceutical doctors out there he/she can make you pass any test with flying colours. that's why the big sporting stars very rarely get caught.

Drug testing in general is utterly useless unless it's carried out on a regular basis throughout the entire year, which is what made Mayweather's fraudulent crusade such a joke in the first place. Porter's team already got them to push this fight back a month, so he's had plenty of time to flush all this sh*t out of his system.

It's just so so poor.

Suspicious? Or does this happen regularly?

Surely it's the IBF at fault it's their duty to enforce safety measures and eliminate cheating.

LOL if i was a promoter the last thing i would want is my fighters getting drug tested, it could be the difference between me having many world champions and not having any and having a tv contract worth tens of millions. of course in front of the media/public i would be saying i am in favour of drug testing and how we should kick the cheats out.....

I hope Eddie gets asked about this tomorrow by IFL tv. If the guys haven't been drug tested when it was supposedly in the contract then there has to be a law suit pending, regardless of the result of the fight.

I've not been following this, Brook has pretty much passed me by TBH and I don't know a lot about him, has either camp kicked up a stink? Maybe they're not bothered.

The sanctioning body and WADA organise Drug Testing not the promotors

A valid point I did mention this earlier but doesn't fit the threads agenda.

Well clearly something is not happening. If it's purely organised by the sanctioning body and WADA why were Haymon and Gomez even involved in the talks surrounding it? Also when does this type of drug testing occur for other IBF title fights? I dont remember seeing it.

I think people are bitching at Hearns cause he was bigging his negotiation skills up saying he got random testing in the contract and it turns out he didn't.

I feel abit sorry for Porter really cause he might not be on the juice

It didn't turn out that way at all. Even Golden boy have confirmed it is in the contract.

Even if someone had it in black & white that there was something untoward going on, the people involved would not follow it up or be bothered. They just want this fight on and to cash out now. No cares in the world. ;;-)

I know but if the sanctioning body doesn't care and the respective camps don't care, WADA can't really do much to force hands.

Yes some sanctioning bodies don't care but people like the board have signed up to wada and under their terms they can test any board boxer or any boxer fighting in the uk irrelevant of what sanctioning body they fight under at any time either before or after a contest or at any stage of the boxers career which means random drug testing at any time failure to allow the test is the same as giving a positive test

Frig me, are you serious that they only tested the athletes on the night of Froch v Ward? A World title unification and they run it like that.

Are they even bothering to try and catch people in the US?
