Dehydrated 154 GGG vs 150½ Mayweather - winner?

Post by Chepppaaa »

150½ is the highest floyd went in his career and had the speed advantage on the bigger canelo and boxed him out.

so a less strong ggg goin down in the weight to fight a full in shape like always faster floyd, with his speed advantage.

what happens?

mayweather can outslick and just by moving frustrate and outland, outspeed ggg, who lost to much energy in going down and cant keep up the pace and floyd wins by UD.

ggg has still a great amount of power left, cuts the ring as usual, overpowers floyd physicly and did what maidana did to floyd, which is, pressure and dont stop pressure and punch when you're close with everything you got and try to land in all possible way, leaning over, punchign at the side of the head, the body. and dont stop the pressure.

for me personly. I would put my money now on ggg. would the dance be different between a prime mayweather, yeah mabe, but now, ggg tkos his ass.

sure, good idea....it would be even mroe crowd pleasing, because manny would actualy be willign tostep into the ring with ggg and exchange punches and not run or hold like floyd and than cry to the ref.

Sure he would, as long as GGG can make 145 like Cotto was forced to do.

GGG will not be very dehydrated at 154. Andy Lee made it just fine, so I don't see why GGG would have problems. He was 163 before even starting to cut weight for the Geale fight.

GGG ain't made 154 in a 8 year pro career (looks like 159 is his low weight) & his best amateur accomplishments took place @ 165 ffs. The guy ain't making 154 w/o looking like death or being very un-GGG like. People act like weight is just an accessory you can takeoff randomly or some bs.

Maybe lets try Sergey Kovalev weight drained to 168 vs Floyd @ 160.1. Thats only slightly less silly than this fantasy match.

Many boxers fighting at LMW are walking heavier than GGG. He will not have serious problems getting to 154.

No clue what other boxers walking around @ has to do with GGG. Everyone isnt the same.

And the fact he hasn't fought @ 154 in over a decade suggests otherwise. Saul has been a sexy opponent for a few years, Floyd makes periodic visits to the division. The move for GGG would be to fight the best available guy he could get for his first fight @ 154 & than parlay that into a better fight & than a Floyd or Saul or Miguel or whoever. The fact he hasnt done that suggests maybe getting to 154 aint some realistic sh!t to do for him.

Now let's for a minute just entertain your stupid fantasy:
Floyd at 1501/2 (who normally loses more weight on fight night goes down to 148) against 3G at a drained 154 (but on fight night balloons back to 163 or more) but somehow this version of 3G who was getting tagged by a slower Geale is going to be able to cut the ring off on the faster Mayweather even though he doesn't throw weird shots like Maidana is going to be able get Floyd on the ropes and keep him there long enough to get through his great defense to land the KO shot(s) he need to stop him.

Then you go on to say that Manny who was running away from Rios will be willing to engage 3G (much bigger and stronger puncher than Brandon) is going to give 3G the opportunity to make it a great fight and to that I say.............................."Yeah Right!!!"

But what can we expect from an Up and Down Troll like you, one minute you're praising Floyd and the next you're kicking him in the nuts.

Go see a Shrink and get your head screwed on right.

This is the accessory analogy bs I was bringing up earlier.

"Cuz Saul, Alfredo & James lose x lbs OBVIOUSLY GGG can lose x lbs". It doesnt work like that folks.

Actions speak louder than words. The fact this brother ain't fought below 159 (edit: actually just looked again & his low weight is 158.5) in his pro career & was fighting @ 165 during his best amateur days & already has moved down a half a division basically means nothing lol?

Randomly its impressive during a 8 year career GGG has weighed between 158.5 & 162. 3.5lb range in 8 years. I can't imagine many guys, high level or otherwise are keeping such a small percentage of difference in weight over such a long period of time. Dude must be no bs in camp.

Because his weight is so low, it gives indication that GGG can make 154. Just like everyone loves to argue that Floyd is really a 140lber. It really depends on the fighter's natural size.

You say GGG can't make 154 because he never fought at it. Well, Porter never fought at 147 in his LIFE before 2010. He's pretty good at 147 now you think? Stevens never fought at 160 until two years ago and he fights exactly the same way he did at 168 and 175. It depends on the fighters natural size and GGG isn't naturally that big.

I never said he couldn't make 154, I said he'd look like death or look un-GGG like if he did. Losing weight aint sh!t with some dedication & clearly he gots dedication cuz he gots a 3.5lb weight range in 8 years. Being the same guy physically & mentally is some sh!t that is a big deal.

And again this "that guy did this so this guy will be able to do it too" is silly ass thinking. I see mad consistency in GGG's weight over his pro career & HE CAME DOWN from 165 already. Shawn's weight has been all over the place in his 6 year career. I doubt Shawn takes his weight anywhere near as serious as GGG does & I bet he had a few extra lbs for awhile & has gotten more professional about it recently.

Floyd, Saul and Miguel wouldn't even consider fighting Golovkin earlier. While fighting him is a huge risk, he was literally unknown to wide public. Now, he is more popular, and Canelo may consider fighting him. Floyd or Cotto will never fight him.

GGG had no reason to move down before. He has been destroying anybody who dared to face him at his comfort weight. It doesn't mean that he will have problems shaving off additional 6 pounds for a good money fight.

Just funny that everyone is a stickler about catch-weights and make a huge deal about a couple pounds. Now all of a sudden their up a guys a$$ so far, it's suddenly not a issue at all and he'll still be knocking dudes out making a weight he's never made before.

Like I said in another thread. GGG is a full blown Middleweight and is as big and strong as any Middleweight in the division. If GGG were to drop those extra 6 lbs. he would be doing a lot of harm to his body because there's no way he's dropping that weight with out muscle deterioration, especially after seeing him in the ring this past weekend.

Let the delusions continue..

look it is very simple.

imagine you have golovkins talent and you box at middleweight for 400.000 paydays or much less and your manager comes to you and says "drop 5¾ pounds, you'll about to get a ~15 million payday against the p4p king mayweather"

what would you answer? anybody would answer lets get it on!

the thing is this. ggg is training like an animal, he could easily sweat some pounds of and still destroy opponents. would he be less strong than his middleweight build, sure, he would be less strong. but would he still have enough power to destroy, hell yeah. and surely he wouldnt lose ring smarts and his knowledge about cutting the ring effective and throwing the right combos and body punches.

at the end, the most important thing is, the fans would benefit the most. they would see the best fighter in the world box the NOW most dangerous opponent in the world, where anything can happen and ggg even dehydrated is still better than all the canelos and maidanas in the world.

I have serious doubts, obviously, with the idea that GGG could get down to 154 & still be the GGG we know or close to the GGG we know. There have been 3 of the top 4 guys in the sport @ 154 at varying points over the last couple years. If GGG could get to 154 he'd be @ 154 or he has an allergy to money.

stop the crap...

ggg weighs 159-160...so its losing 5-6 pounds to make 154 and box canelo, lara or mayweather.

margarito fought a fight comin in 157 and the next fight few month later he came in 147 and what happened? he kod monuz and than lost 10 pounds to tko sergio martinez. in 2003 he fought 154 brantley, kod the guy and than about 4 month later went to 146 losing 8 pounds and kod another unbeaten guy.

all i am saying is, dont act like an training or nutrition expert when you know sh&/(t. any proffesional boxer can adjust his training and gain and lose weight (margarito is just a small example). surely he wont lose and gain weight healthy if its 20 or 30 pounds, but if we talk like 5-6 pounds in ggg case, with the right training and nutrition and TIME and a proffesional focus, whcih ggg has, than there is absolutly 0 problem. sure he would not be as strong at 154, im comparence to middlweight, but it would be enough to wreck any man on earth.

maybe does he know that his NAME HIS STATUS wasnt up there to make serious $$$$ and serious challenge to superstars like canelo and mayweather and maybe HBO wanted to build a name for himself, build an audience, well, fight by fight he is making his name bigger.

also, it s not only about, floyd is very picky with his opponents and last thing on his mind would be a showdown with ggg at 154. canelo is another type of dude. he wants the best fights for his fans. I think that if ggg finaly meets and wrecks somebody with a bigger reputation, lets say cotto or quillin, that than he will have the name and status and fan following to make a sserious demand to fight a big name like canelo. and canelo would surely say yes.

exactly. all the top boxers avoid ggg like a fat kid aviods vegetables.

cotto knows what ggg is capable of doing at middleweight.

if mayweather thinks maidana was a tough fight, than wait and think about what he thinks about ggg hahaha.....

they all want none of ggg. except canelo and thats why I like canelo very much, because not like mayweather, canelo realy means it when saying "i wanna make the best fights for my fans" he showed it by making 152 vs mayweather and he showed by going into the ring vs lara, who everybody including me thought lara would easily outhustle him.
