Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
How would this fight go right now, as things are standing?
Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
I think Dirrell would beat him.
Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
Well, I think it would be a competitive enough fight. As far as I know, Dirrell hasn't fought good opposition is a couple of years, so in terms of the ring-rust, I would say DeGale. But If Dirrell got back to his best, I'd fancy him to beat DeGale.

Dirrell UD
Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
Tough to call as Dirrell has been out for a while. Both very talented fighters although neither has that warrior mentality.
Was very impressed with DeGale last time out. Haven't seen Dirrell fight since Abraham & I felt at the time he made the most of it - although that's easy for me to say from the comfort of my living room.
But Dirrell seems a level above DeGale although we may not have seen the best of either fighter yet.

Dirrell does everything DeGale does. Just better.

Except he may be emotionally messed up ...diddy wrote:Dirrell does everything DeGale does. Just better.
Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
I'd say that Degale has shown more ability to handle himself on the ropes and fight in place as opposed to punching then moving. He is primarily a counter puncher though, which isn't the best style to have against someone with Dirrell's incredible speed, especially when the latter's biggest problems have come from being pressured rather than countered or outfoxed.
Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
Dirrell looked class in his last fight.
A shame so much talent has been wasted for the past four years.
If Bika beats his brother should go after him. Could try someone like JLeon Love if not.

Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
DeGale has fought one guy of any note. Groves. And lost.
Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
He lost but it was a very close fight and I thought he edged it. He hasn't fought top opposition yet but I thought he looked against Gonzalez and will probably be able to handle himself well at higher levels.
Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
DeGale is pretty good but what's he do to Dirrell? Out Dirrell, Dirrell?
Unlikely. DeGale isn't aggressive. If you let Dirrell box comfortably he will take you apart.

Re: Andre Dirrell vs. James DeGale
The Groves fight was a strange one. I felt like DeGale never got out of 2nd gear. Whether this was his fault or Groves not letting him I do not know. I think he underestimated Groves & paid the price. He seems to be in his prime now though.crusader wrote:He lost but it was a very close fight and I thought he edged it. Too many people put stock in a narrow loss nowadays. We learn more from mistakes than we do from victories.
