Which fight will not be called Mismatch for Wlad Klitschko?

Post by vovazilvova »

I don't agree with that but i keep on reading it on boxrec forum and other forums that W. Klitschko vs Pulev is a mismatch, it was the same with Leapie, Povetkin, Pianneta, Wach, Thompson, Mormeck and all his fights.

the only 2 fights I remember not being called a mismatch for W. Klitschko is the 1st Samuel Peter fight and David Haye fight,

so today who should Wlad fight so that it finally won't be called a mismatch so that people won't say Wlad is fighting bums.

Kubrat is the #1 contender & most deserving guy to fight Wlad right now in my eyes. If it happens to be a mismatch so be it, Kubrat earned his shot.

The most interesting fights for Wlad (imo) are vs Tyson & Deontay, but I'd say neither guy is ready for that jump & shouldn't be looking to make that jump for another year or so. Tyson has more balls & has comeback from more than any two Wlad challengers in recent years & Deontay has more power than any two Wlad challengers in recent years so they seemingly bring something new if their allowed to get a bit more seasoning.

After watching Wlad fight Wach I would always vote for Wlad to fight taller guys, in my eyes that was one of the most interesting fights of Wlad. but Wilder will be called a huge mismatch after the fight because of never been tested before.

Complaining about Pulev getting a title shot is an admission that you're an idiot. Don't try to argue with idiots, don't try to please haters.

I wonder if there's something Wilder can do to remedy that. Perhaps he could fight a divisional top 15 opponent like Jason Gavern or Mike Sheppard to prove that he's a genuine contender. Then people won't be able to say that he hasn't been tested. He's already got one tremendous win against Audley Harrison, which was a shocking upset. He just needs to keep building on that.

Every Wlad opponent is a bum after the fight...just like every Floyd opponent. More haters, more money.

He'd be a deserving favourite against any of these, but I'd be happy to see Wlad vs:

Pulev
Fury
Stiverne
Wilder

Wladimir got quite a story whenever he fights a tall guy...
He didn't want Valuev. He lost to Sanders. He got wobbled against Wach.
He now fights anyone, except Fury and Wilder... Do you see the pattern?

Wlad is strong and technical, but 50% of his succes is a result of his size.

If he can earn his shot I'd add Ustinov to that. It'd be a fun fight since we didn't get Valuev.

Klitschko will be the favorite in all those fights, so the question should be, who will put on the best fight?

At this moment I see two fighters having a reasonable chance against Wlad - Pulev, Fury.

The few prospects can potentially get there within a year - Wilder, Jennings, Ortiz.

The few names I am aware of for the future - Parker, Joshua, Hughie Fury.

Corrie Sanders loss was not because of height, Pianeta and Thompson both are 1" taller then Sanders and Wlad beat them both easy, other then missing one good punch (and which good fighter don't miss a punch) Wlad dominated Wach, it was just more interesting to watch.

I don't believe Klitschko is avoiding Fury or Wilder and I believe he will fight them next year, it's just till now Fury or Wilder were both premature fights, just like the Pianeta fight it was a premature fight. fighter must first prove him self worthy of fighting for a title fight. Malik Scott is the best name Wilder beaten so there was no way he deserved fighting Klitschko before, this year Wald will be done with his mandatory defenses and I can see those fights happening in 2015.

He's the best opponent for Wlad to face. I read Bert Bonte was claiming nobody was interested in this fight awhile back and was trying to swerve it... Wlad should win it's a good fight though.

wlads next fights will be awesome

Pulev is #1 after wlad no doubt based on results

Fury will be a exciting fight due to build up, but id expect wlad to deck him!!!

Wilder/Stiverne winner - we just dont know how good he is as all his 31 opponents are of the same cloth - toilet paper
i believe he is a top 5 boxer, i just wish he'd step up. the winner of the fight between stiverne/wilder is a DESERVED contender for Wlad

pulev turned pro same time as wilder btw!!!!!!!

only other fight id like to see just for fun is Luis Ortiz or Jennings

we have good fights on the horizon

Ortiz vs Kayode
Banks Vs Tarver
Wilder vs Stiverne
Povetkin Vs Takam
Chisora vs Fury
?Chagaev vs Browne

the beauty of these fights is that it narrows potential for WLad but also stops bums calling him out

The ones is BOLD are whom expecting

Pulev would be a good match. he is of course no Holyfield or tyson but he is a very solid challenger. fury and wilder also would be good fights as was haye, povetkin, Thompson I and Chambers.

real mismatches were leapai, pianeta and especially mormeck and some others.

It'll probably look like a mismatch in the ring, but I'm not labeling it as a mismatch now. Boring, yes, but that's the norm. Pulev has done enough to earn this fight and is a good challenger, at least on paper.
I'm glad Wlad is taking on one of the best challengers available. Although I'm not really looking forward to the fight, but I'll probably be watching anyway as it is the HW championship and I am a boxing fan.

Haye and Povetkin were the most highly ranked heavywieghts at the time he fought them and Pulev will also fit that category.

Other than that there is no one i'm desperate to see him fight

Although they would be mismatches technically, i'd be interested to see how he deals with Fury's size and unorthodox style, I'd like to see how he deals with the explosive power of Wilder if he landed and I'd like top see him fight Stiverne to unify the titles

But ultimately i'd like to see him fight those 3 to knock them out, stop all the hype around them, put all the questions to bed and retire an ATG heavyweight

Yes some of his opposition have been weak, he has at times hand picked duds, but ultimately, he has faced the best over the past 10 years and that deserves to be recognised

I think it's safe to say Wlad fights in a weak era.

Glazkov, a supposed top contender, struggled with journeyman Rossey.

Yea I think its save to assume Jonathan won't be fighting Wlad. Jonathan's always seemed like a talented guy without much drive so I highly doubt he'll get in a spot where he could be considered a legit top challenger for Wlad anyway.

Pulev is not good. His resume stinks. Beating bums doesn't make u good. Wlad's resume dwarfs his and everyone says his resume sucks. At least there's some relevant guys on it.

Let's be fair.Wlad had a very crappy resume compared to Pulev's when you compare
their 20-0 records side by side.Pulev has faced much tougher competition in his first
20 fights then Wlad did in his first 20.
Wlad has a better overall resume obviously having 65 fights now.

Getting back to the original question of who will not be considered a mismatch for Wlad?
No one at this point.Until Wlad shows chinks in his armor again as he did earlier in his career.
Everyone should be considered a mismatch.
As much as I find the guy boring. He is a fantastic fighter who would give any man in history a
tough match up.

Wlad has been champion longer than Kubrat has been pro so I'd hope so. I would say lately (barring Kubrat's last two fights which appear to be nothing less than keep busy fights) they seem fairly close in opposition. I mean they both fought & beat Tony Thompson in their last five bouts + they both have wins over a few unproven or barely proven prospects with sexy looking records. Between Kubrat's bs last two fights & Wlad beating Alexander I'd give Wlad the nod for recent opponents, but its closer than most would guess imho.
