He is the heavyweight of this decade with the most wasted potential. He had a good chin and a wicked punch. The injuries he suffered were enough to mess up his career, but now the ring rust and legal issues have effectively ended his career.

Three-four years ago, I was for certain this man was the next heavyweight champion of the world. Then he blew out his arm against Chisora, and from that point on--- became a shell of himself. Compound that with legal issues, I cant ever see him making the return. But if EVER a man looked and fought like a heavyweight champion, Robert Helenius was it. The guy looked like THOR ffs.

Still more ambitious matchmaking than Wilder. & also I suppose it's something to do whilst waiting for Wlad to retire.

Whilst I wouldn't go quite as far as you, he did look like a very solid prospect. Up until Chisora he had beaten better opposition that Wilder (And I like Wilder). He looked great against Del Boy until the hand gave out. And by that I mean he had a great first round :DD

It's a great shame that we never got to see how his career would have progressed.

He is slow. Not good defensively. And not overly skilled. But he could punch.

He's pretty much done.

In my opinion the injuries significantly impaired his best attribute, being his power. I think his last 3 fights show the quality of fighter he is without that attribute, and I doubt he'll be a factor in the division again.

A one armed Thor with two serious injuries (one of which was considered a potential career ender) allowed Del Boy to look much better than he is.
Fixed.

I think the bigger Problem is not the shoulder injury but the Hand injury. I think the shoulder injury has healed well but Hand injuries often come back. boytsov has the same Problem.

of course mayweather and clazaghe also had a lot of Hand Problems but but a Puncher like helenius that is usually the end because unlike clazaghe he cannot win by slapping his Opponent:).

I'm of the same school of thought. The shoulder was badly damaged, but the surgery supposedly brought it back to normal. The hand may be brittle.

Either way, I feel his best days are behind him which is quite sad as he was the best challenge Klitschko could have faced.
