Vera-Rosado classified as boxing match

By Karl Freitag

Saturdays’ BKB (Big Knockout Boxing) event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center will be reported as boxing results to boxing’s official record keeper FightFax and will be included on the fighters’ official boxing records. According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, BKB is classified as professional boxing, albeit with a variation of the traditional boxing rules. The combatants will be using conventional boxing gloves, however they will be boxing in a 17 foot diameter pit with no ropes. Rounds will be two minutes each and bouts will be five or seven rounds. Established boxers Bryan Vera (23-8, 14 KOs) and Gabe Rosado (21-8, 13 KOs) meet in the main event. Other notable boxers seeing action will be “King” David Estrada (26-6, 16 KOs) and Carson Jones (35-10-3, 25 KOs) in separate bouts. The card is on pay-per-view.

Let's clear the smoke and mirrors... :TU:
First of all; FightTax is not "boxing’s" official record keeper. :shame:
Also, according to espn; BKB results are not supposed to count on a fighter's boxing record.
Instead there will be another column for BKB bouts.

Big Knockout Boxing, with the so-called variation (changing)
of the traditional boxing rules, is-not-boxing any more than MMA.
When You change the rules; you change the game. :D

The Problem With Big Knockout Boxing

It will be Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, but with humans.
If BKB were to take off, it would result in more fighters getting hurt
and shorter careers for those who remain: that is undeniable.
