Cobb clearly not the brute of the Norton and Dokes fights but still, wow, look at him go down after the 5:00 mark.

It was a perfect shot to the chin, but Cobb was more exhausted than hurt. You can tell by his body language in the corner before the 9th . .he had basically nothing left in the tank . . when you are that tired you can easily be put down.

Looked to me like Cobb may have been in the process of"heat prostration",
when he just lost focus for a second(probably makin a laundrey list in his head for the party after the fight)
and was hit from the side by what looks to a real good solid punch to his left temporal region.
He never saw it comin'
Cobb was also known to have been"smoking like a chimney" outside the ring at this point of his career.
Anyway it was just a flash knockdown.

I'd love to find footage of Cobb versus Dee Collier (Cobb's one and only kayo loss as a boxer) and his fight with Big John Jackson, which also resulted in a kayo loss--- though it was kickboxing.

What I first noticed in that clip is how much slimmer Tex Cobb looked.
That was one of his three losses in 1985(Michael Dokes,Dee Collier),
so it sounds like somethin was goin wrong that year.
Maybe he had the squirts.
