With bids like that for a shitfight his promotional career will be a short one.

Nobody looking to break into the business will find a better fight than this one to be taken by purse-bid.
Better fights aren't just floating around to be snatched up by boxing noobs.
Jay-Z has proven to be quite the business man, and I'm curious to see where he goes with this.

There is also history with Haymon. Which adds not a little animosity.

Yeah that side of things is interesting. Be curious to see how it unfolds.

I just hope he's better for boxing than 50 cent. I had high hopes for him as a promoter but it just doesn't seem like its working out

Good for the fighters, especially the Stars coming out of the Amateurs. Gives them more options to sign with

Hmmm, definitely interesting. I wish them luck. The boxing world is clearly open for someone to bring in some new ideas & with that a new audience.

Glad you brought that up. I don't have a facebook, but I did see an article and the video that 50 made about Floyd's ex kicking it with Nelly. I like 50's music, and I respect him as boxer because I understand he was a golden gloves champ in NY. But real talk, that messy s*** is for women. Lost a lot of respect for him behind that. If he put half of that effort into promoting yuri gamboa and james Kirkland we wouldn't always be asking ourselves why they constantly have such long periods of inactivity.

Boxing just seems to be a way for him to stay relevant, no one gives a feck about him anymore, so he uses Floyd to keep his name out.

This feels like a $550,000 fight. A $2 million purse bid seems like insanity. I wish him luck, but I think he overshot the mark by an absolutely absurd amount.

Thats what TR bid & even GBP was at least a half a mill less iirc. It seems excessive to me too although I know the fighters ain't complaining. Probably their newness with bidding or they just said f#ck it this is going to be our first fight & overbid on purpose.

Rigo is a different beast than Gamboa. Gamboa had been regressing for couple years. Seemed like he was relying to much on Athletic Ability. Rigo seems much smarter and is a way more technically sound fighter

Roc Nation is no Joke they already had signed one of the best ballers in The Nba. They way ahead of what ever 50 cent was doing.
