Im looking for old information about my dad.
It was never discussed at home after his death.
Im told my father was a boxer, in the lightweight catagory.
His name is/was Ralph Connor Bennett 1906 to 1951
Im not sure about a lot of it.
I dont know if he was Pro or Amateur.
I dont know if he fought while in the Canadian Navy or after coming to the USA.
I dont know how long his career was either.
I do know
He was born in Canada in 1906
Came to the USA through Washington state in 1930 at age 23 so after military.
He married my mom in 1937 in McMinnville Oregon.
What he did from 1930 to 1937 is a blank.
I was told he killed a man in the ring for a belt and hung up his gloves.
He said no life was worth winning a belt.
Mom had his belt but threw it in the trash after his death.
I was 5 at that time so to young to voice an opinion.
Im 68 now and would like to pass on more information to my kids.
Any information will be helpful
