Is anyone boycotting FW promotions after this nonsense?

I personally paid out a lot of money for a show that clearly hadnt sold enough tickets so every fighter suddenly became injured, i ended up sat in near empty arena watching an undercard with no main event not two months ago. I then convince people to get tickets to the next FW event because BJS and CEJ are fighting - a fight most would agree is more interesting than the main event. Only to find out no contract was ever signed.

I now hear FW on an interview on buncys boxing hour saying they never said the fight was happening it was the EBU that announced it and they were waiting for the press conference to announce the fight. They're trying to make a mugg out of me.

FW also confirmed that the fight is officially not happening.

Im personally cancelling allegedly and boycotting any warren shows its an out and out scam imo im not being tugged off for my money.

He has been doing this for a while. It seems to have caught fire this time with pxxxed off fans because the promise of Eubank jr vs BJS was such a mouth-watering fight, but it is nothing new. Vote with your feet if you don't like it. I think the promoter is hurting very badly already at the box office, which is probably a major reason why he jumped the gun and announced the fight when it wasn't actually made.

Tell you what, Eddie must be laughing all the way to the bank. If his main rival pulls stunts like this, Eddie doesn't have to work very hard to stay ahead of the pack.

Very rarely go to live shows now.
Costs with tickets, travel and hotel usually involved. Plus alot of shows change fighters and even dates. Its just not FW shows, it happens alot on others as well.

yeah such a shame Warren feels he needs to behave like this. he won't change his spots now though as no one would believe him if he did. I am certainly into supporting other promoters as much as possible as far as attending live shows goes.

As previously said, it is not the first time it happens. How do they recover from that? I don't know. Get a decent opponent for BJS for his world title fight but isn't too late to start negotiations?

Well unless it is the WBA regular champ I don't think they meant Billy Joe would fight for a WT on the November bill. I mean what is it? 8 weeks away. No World champ would agree to a defence at that kinda notice. I'd imagine what they mean is, if the Eubank Jr fight doesn't materialise then Billy will fight for a WT on another date and possibly just have a keep busy fight on the November bill.

Eubank's down to box on the Paul Butler Liverpool show in Oct. Saunders is fighting TBA on 29th Nov.

Aren't they biker shows/music festivals? They're definitely not all turning up to see him, if the money's right he'll travel, same as anyone else. I don't think they'll be looking at Chudinov anyway, a defence of the European or fighting Blackwell to take the Lonsdale outright seem more likely, then push the WBO for a world title shot against the winner of Korobov-Andrade.

Seems that they're in negotiations, but there's no guarantee of him moving up. How can they petition the WBO for a shot at middleweight, then say he might not take it? From what I can tell Ron Katz, Banner Promotions matchmaker, put the petition in, so they could get in before Bob Arum. I'm sure that will go down well with Arum. Like him or not, he's still a powerful man in boxing and has previous for refusing to work with people, why risk pissing him off? Golden Boy can do it because they're a major promotional company, but if you're a reasonably small promotional company, in the grand sense of things, why do it?

I won't say I'll never go to one of his shows again, but the man has a lot of form for this stuff. Like I said at the time it's a way of selling 1000 tickets straight away by announcing fights that haven't even been signed and that we all know 90% won't happen.

You just have to take the man with a pinch of salt, if there was a really good card I'd still go his events, but I'd always wait til last minute and always keep in mind that 1-2 fights will usually get cancelled or late replacements.

As for allegedly, hit and miss so far for me. I like the channel, just doesn't have enough British action for me.
