The WBA has ordered negotiations to begin.

What's your prediction?

This is a hell of a lot better than Oquendo being rolled out again.

I like Chagaev a lot, but Ortiz seems like a beast.

A few years back, close fight.

I'd pick Ortiz via KO in the mid rounds a this point in there careers

Prime Chagaev wins.

Current Chagaev gets destroyed. Who's waiting in the wings for Ortiz to defend against?

I don't think Chagaev will get destroyed, his chin is too good. Beating Oquendo is, while not stop-the-presses material, still an achievement which shows he is not over the hill.

Chag has been over the hill since the Wlad beating. Between his injuries, hep twice and a few ring wars he's well past his date. He does have a good chin, but his only hope is Ortiz' laziness. Oquendo was/is way past his best too, which was always considerably less than Chagaev's.

Tough one to call. Chagaev is definitely past his best but Ortiz has beaten nobody at age 35 and it's hard to tell how good he is. Evenly matched fight, IMO.

I always thought Chagaev was crap anyway. I see an Ortiz win.

I think Ortiz will win easily, Chagaev is fat and faded.

Then we'll see a more interesting fight: Ortiz vs. Klitschko.

Ortiz is vastly overrated by many here. Despite Chagaev being well past his prime this is basically an even money fight, probably slight edge to Ortiz being the bigger and fresher fighter despite his age. And it will be a boring decision win either way

I'm not sure it's overrating as much as it is Chagaev is completely shot. Ortiz isn't close to top ten IMO opinion. It's just Chagaev's tank is empty and has been for some time.

It is sad that chagaev had so many injuries. He looked really promising when he was young (beat savon at age 19-20 in the amateurs) but he was always a little inconsistent. he still got a nice run beating valuev but then the hepatitis basically finished his career.

I think ortiz wil win by decision.
