The New Matrix

Post by BAD INTENTIONS »

Hardly any Andre Dirrell topics ...

What do you guys think of the new Andre Dirrell? In his last two fights, he hasn't taken a step backwards. I enjoy the effort, but I think he's most effective using the style he used against Froch.

Also, am I crazy for thinking he might still be the 2nd best fighter at 168?

Being that he hasn't fought anyone notable in 4 & a half years yes you are a lil crazy for thinking he might be the 2nd best guy @ 168. As a Andre fan I'm rooting for him but its a long way from the guys he's been fighting to the guys he needs to be fighting to be considered a legit top ten guy again let alone the #2 guy. Tons of question marks on Andre these days & there will be til he fights a elite level guy again.

I haven't seen him fight latley, but your post prompted me to look up his opponents on boxrec, I have never heard of these guys, and their ko records are very low which indicates low punching power. I think we need to see Andre Dirrell fight some higher level competition before we know were he is at.

Andre is one of my favorate fighters but I thought he looked rough last night, he was a 45-1 favoured to win. It didn't look like that watching him. I think he probably has to step up his competition to get motivated to really show his skills. He is supposed to fight again in December, Im looking forward to that!
