Zac Dunn looking at WBO route to world title

Post by adamheight »

Next fight already locked in for December after his 3rd round stoppage win over Zellar on the weekend. He'll be defending his new WBO oriental title and his WBC Eurasian Pacific Boxing Council belt

Zac, his father and Barry Michael will also be attending the WBO CONVENTION in Caesars Palace Las Vegas end of October to further his ties with the WBO and try to build his ranking.

Things going along very nicely for Zac. We sure do need some more contenders.

this guy has popped up from nowhere, for me.
I don't remember seeing him on a fox card, or hearing about him.
who has seen him fight, and what are your thoughts?
it concerns me a little that he hasn't travelled outside of Victoria yet.
I think that can set fighters up for a potential hard crash back to earth.

As an amateur zac fought in Russia, Cuba, Thailand and many more country's. None of his pro fights have been televised, he has somewhat flown under the radar, he fought the #2 rated Japanese fighter not long ago and stopped him in 4 rounds, by all accounts many people have stated it was fight of the year, keep your eyes on this young feller, he's going places

Zac has snuck under the radar of some. But as you listed above, he has ticked lots of boxes already in his progression through the ranks.

To fight in FOXTEL is a good thing, but to flight under the radar is even better some times until the right time comes, Im positive that when that time arrive everyone will realize that this KID is the real deal, in my opinion # 1 prospect in his division in Australia. If you have the chance to fight in your own state, well you just do it, doesnt matter where you fight, what matters is who you fight and how you look on the fight and so far he is just showing fight after fight that he is improving his boxing skills and just getting better and better. Take a look here in BOXREC who he is fighting next: Berrocal is # 15 WBC & # 12 WBO Latino pretty good for a guy that never was on FOXTEL before, that means that he is going in the right track step by step better oponents every time & still undefeated lets see what future brings to him but Im 100 % sure that he will be soon in televised events and more important he will be soon fighting for a World title

And now looking after Mitch Clark, too. Mocca's amateur charge. A strong south paw and certainly one to look out for.

Gotta give Danny the recognition he deserves, probably one of the better trainers around, he's improved no end, yet you never hear a word from him, he just gets the job done, no fanfare, no beating of the chest, just a good hard nosed, hard at it trainer, and a decent bloke to boot.

Gotta say same for everyone of the Dunn family, I go way back to when Zac's Grandfather Harry was fighting, they're unpretentious, good hard working people, who shun the limelight and just stick together as a team, they have all the right ingredient's to sit on top of the ladder, remembering that Zac is still just in his early 20's

thanks for the insight, I will do my best to keep an eye out. I do hope he goes great.
I guess my concern with a fighter always fighting at home is it may give them a false sense of security. we have seen a lot of our guys look great here and get to 20+ and 0 type records, and then go fight a journeyman/gatekeeper type guy for the first time OS, and get done.
