Fighter promotions - what could have been done

Hatton promotions had at one point or another Martin Murray, Anthony Crolla, Scott Quigg, Matty Askin, Adam Etches, Sergey Rabchenko, Richard Towers, Ashley theopane, Ryan Rhodes, Mathew hatton and Gary Buckland. Yet they lost their tv deal and all their fighters (except Sergey and etches). What could they have done differently to remain a big player? Did they not run competitive matches?

Equally Hayemaker promotions had an array of fighters and seemed to be doing well. We had Calzaghe promotions run for 2 shows and even Amir Khan promotions. What do you think these guys should have done?

On another note - I hear iron mike promotions is dipping into the uk market next year

Hatton could've done a lot more if it had not have been for Sky pulling the plug and making monopoly mis-Matchroom which has done the sport in the UK no favours having seen the shite he has lined up - especially over the last 12 months.

Hayemaker were doing well until Setanta went under, it seems like they gave up after that.

Calzaghe tested the water and then realised it wasn't for him, have AK promotions ever put on a show in the UK.

Iron Mike promotions can pretty much forget it, without TV it's a no go Sky won't be interested and unless they have some big names lined up B o x N a t i o n won't be either.

For what it's worth a lot of Japanese promoters are former fighters, Hideyuki Ohashi being a very notable one
