wlad vs pulev
don't think this can be any different from his recent
defenses. very weird situation in this division. it is
like everyone, including the fans, almost hopes the
best guy leaves so there is room for more exciting
matchups.
it probably felt like that for louis too.

as much as i hate to say it, but briggs would at least
mean excitement. wilder would be most fun IMHO, but
i guess "careful management" will never allow for that
to happen.

Re: wlad vs pulev
If Wlad would finish and fight fighters the way he should nobody would want him to leave. His fight with Povetkin was frustrating as hell.
The Louis comparison is not on mark at all.

Re: wlad vs pulev
Wlad cant win. Whoever he fights people bitch about it. At this moment in time, Pulev probably deserves his NO2 rating on boxrec due to who he has fought and beat up until this point. This is a good fight so I dont know what people are moaning about.man wrote:don't think this can be any different from his recent

Pulev has a better chance than most others, but that still isn't saying much.
Desperately want him to win though. ONE TIME!

Re: wlad vs pulev
wlad will win late KO or UD
However the fight between chisora vs fury is good as wlad will most likely fight the winner.
he has past beef with chisora (with pullin gout of fights and being spat in the face) but i want fury to win as he will make build up with wlad really good and would be nice to see Wlad KO fury!!!!
i know wlad wants wbc but the wilder/stiverne winner will have to fight jennings

I think Wlad would absolutely flatted Fury. Fury doesnt have the best chin himself and he leaves big openings at times.cold187 wrote:wlad will win late KO or UD

Wlad will lose or retire eventually. No man escapes the ravages of old age forever.
I think Pulev has the best shot at beating him of anyone in the division. Wilder is too raw, Stiverne is too much of a plodder, Fury almost got KO'd by Cunningham so I can't see him standing up to Wlad's power. Pulev is a well schooled amateur who's just as big as Wlad. Definitely one of the toughest opponents of Wlad's career.

even criticize him for the way he fights. he found a
way to deal with his weaknesses and can avoid being
hit. made him the at this point pretty undisputed champ.
pulev may indeed be the best of many unexciting
options. he definitely deserves the shot more than
many others who got it before.

created for him? sounds pretty much like boredom
on the spectator side for me.
but of course you are right, the way in which joe
won was very different.
Re: wlad vs pulev
He's not THAT old mate lol. In a sporting sense he's knocking on a bit but he's a guy that really looks after himself so i imagine he's quite well reserved.jujigatame wrote:Wlad will lose or retire eventually. No man escapes the ravages of old age forever.

I said he would lose or retire eventually, not immediately. 38 is pretty old in the sporting world.

Right. Pulev is a big man with skills. He’s undefeated and in his prime. He’s either the #1 or #2 contender right now. This is a good match up. Keep in mind Wlad is 38, is currently engaged with a child on the way.
I think Wlad has a bit more on his mind than Pulev, which makes this fight even more intriguing.

Re: wlad vs pulev
The three best heavyweights (imho) are Pulev, Fury and Stiverne... those are the guys with the best shot at beating Klitschko... and all over them are live underdogs... the rest of the field are nothing but question marks or dead men, and in my view (yes) that includes Wilder.
But even those live underdogs have less than a 40% chance of beating Vladimir.
Pulev, I think, will feel the sting early and it will turn into a tactical nightmare of a contest, with lots of clinching, mauling, and infrequent punching--- just like with Povetkin. At least with Fury and Stiverne, you know they will either fight harder when they are hurt, or can take bombs and still be dangerous. Pulev hasn't been in a contest like that yet, to determine if he will respond well under pressure.

Re: wlad vs pulev
Wlad dominates and stops Puley late...if he's not mentally worn out by his scintillating feud with Briggs.
Re: wlad vs pulev
Matchmaking has nothing to do with it. Wilder has not earned a shot, while Pulev has. Once Wilder actually gets some real wins and earns a solid ranking, I have no doubt that Wlad will sign the contract and break the silly bitch in half. It is much more likely that Wilder will get his hype train derailed the first time he fights a decent opponent, just like we have seen with Seth Mitchell and David Price -- the Wilders who came before Wilder.man wrote:as much as i hate to say it, but briggs would at least

Also, a few years ago, Briggs got an undeserving shot at Vitali. He got his face broke and he hasn't done sh*t since except get older, balder, and further removed from his prime. If he fought Wlad now, it would be one of Wlad's worst opponents in a decade, and an even bigger ass-beating for the aging Briggs, who is not currently even in the top 50.

deserved the shot. and wilder himself will do all he
can to avoid wlad. no way these two ever fight.
i actually think that they ruin wilder by being too
careful. the first time an opponent goes the distance
he will have a nervous breakdown for weeks.

i tried to name who would beat him and i
deleted it … is a sad thing about heavies
these days. once wlad is gone there will be
more exciting title fights, but the prestige
of "the heavyweight champion of the world"
will suffer terribly.

Louis defences were nearly always explosive, a lot were surprisingly competitive
there was more action in louis v galento than all wlds defences put together

Love the guy, cracks me up big time.

agree. The most interesting fight to be made with Klit at this time is Pulev. He actually does have more than a slim chance.jujigatame wrote:Wlad will lose or retire eventually. No man escapes the ravages of old age forever.

Pulev does have 2 chances---slim and none. And "slim" is vacationing back in Bulgaria.
Klit remains a substantial 6-1 favorite at most sportsbooks and is -150 to score another KO win. You get +220 if you think he'll hold back and allow Puley to last the distance.
If you favor the hopeless, Puley returns +700 to win by KO and +1200 to win a decision. Dream on.
