Luis Abregu vs Sadam Ali

Post by hulkmaniac »

I really haven't seen much of either fighter but I am a little more familiar with Abregu. Most of what I read about Ali is criticism for not following through in the pros since his accomplishments in the amateurs. From what I see, Abregu packs and punch. Ali has done okay but he's only fought bums.

What do you think about this fight?

I really don't know which way this goes. There was tons of hype in NYC behind Ali for years. If he can soundly beat Abregu, we have another major player at 147.

Abregu is what he is. He is better than most fighters, but he is not elite.

These are the types of fights that make me love boxing. Thanks GBP and TR, all is forgiven ...

I think Abregu stops him. I think his awkwardness and power will carry the day. Ali has solid fundamentals, but he doesn't seem to have it. He was rocked by a non-puncher in Bryan in his last fight as well.

Interesting match-up, though I have not seen any Ali fight, and only 1 for Abregu, which was his lost to Bradley. I'd like to see Abregu wins.

He also had a good stoppage of Dulorme, but you should do yourself a favor and check out this AWESOME brawl, Abregu vs Garcia. KDs galore, big turnarounds, great stuff.

I've seen Sadam Ali quite a few times and he's capable, he can move and hit.
Not sure where his confidence level is these days, the East Coast posters for sure will have a better idea of where he's at in that respect.

Abregu is imo the most concussive puncher at 147... Ali can look great but often loses focus as the fight progresses... that spells KTFO

The logical pick is going with Abregu by stoppage.

I was surprised to see Sadam Ali accept this fight. He and his team must see some vulnerability in Abregu to take this one.

I'm going to gamble and pick the underdog Sadam Ali to win by close decision.

I'm sure Sadam's team see that he has the better straight punch arsenal, better footwork, better jab and also that Abregu has a bad chin.
