Vasyl Lomachenko
Just watching Vasyl. I love him and the way that he fought for a world title in his second fight. but I find him odd to watch. Sometimes he looks amazing, and the most natural boxer ever... but also he still gets hit clean now and again, esp in the body.
And hes only in his 4th fight, I realise that.
Where does he rate P4P?

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
looks like hes hurt his hand
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
He's brilliant in lots of ways but I worry about his lack of power and I worry about whether or not he can fight on the inside or go to war if he has to.
I don't think he's up near the top of the P4P lists at the moment.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
He fought with one hand and still looked better than Quigg and Frampton put together.

No, Frampton is very good. Don't make the mistake of under-rating that kid.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
He's nowhere P4P just now, give him three or four more fights and he will make it.

Love his footwork, movement and hand speed, reminds me of a young sugar Shane Mosely apart from the punching power. Would love to see him fight Walters next year.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
He moved around too much. I didn't like his showboating either.
Why did he waste so much energy against an overmatched opponent? He should have finished him instead of poncing about.

I really hope Lomachenko and Shiming learned big lessons last night. Both had their man ready to go and blew it before suffering nasty injuries. I'm not sure how the ref didn't stop Kwanpichit though.

Naturally skilful. He's a pleasure to watch when there's so much absolute overrated crap on our screens.
Love the guy, makes boxing look easy.

I like him and he is great to watch, but he needs to keep evolving towards more of a pro style.

When going through the gears he's a joy to watch, needs to sit down on his punches more often though but it'll take time to change that amateur style but so far im impressed, and its good to see him bypass the 4 rounders against the usual tripe
Done excellent considering he damaged the left hand, his angles and footwork are mesmerising

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
Loma is brilliant, Rico v Loma will be a classic. He isn't in the P4P league yet but will be in the next 18 months/4 bouts.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
Apparently Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo got knocked down for the first time in his 53 fight career.

Frampton would beat Quigg and would also have a real chance against Lomachenko in my opinion. Rigondeux is a real strange one because he is a class act and many people don't even mention his name because they automatically assume he would win the fight but I honestly think Frampton is Rigo nearest Challenger
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
You seriously believe Frampton comes UP a weight AND beats Lomochenko ?Horse wrote:What's so funny?jessi wrote:
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko
Lomachenko has excellent movement and while I tend to be most entertained by blood and guys type of bouts at times I found it enjoyable to watch him move around so quickly and use angles so effectively. He also showed these abilities against Russell, and in doing so he reduced a very fast handed opponent to largely hitting air and perhaps never landing a notable shot. People have raised questions about his power and while I don't think that he's a particularly hard puncher I believe that his power is solid, an assertion which I believe is supported by all of his opponents showing signs of being hurt by him. He also seems to have a fairly diverse attack that involves a good mixture of head and body punches as well as an accurate uppercut, a punch that most fighters seem to largely abandon in my view.
On the less positive side, I think he can take the movement too far and he seemed to be playing around when his last opponent looked ready to be taken out. He also doesn't seem to have much of an inside game, looks discomforted by rough-housing, and doesn't put as much into his shots as I'd like him to; rather than so frequently whipping out rapid arm punches (which seems like something that would be more of an asset in the amateurs) I think he'd benefit by sitting down and putting his body into more of his shots.

^^
good post
As far as working on the inside, I'm sure he will learn to get better at it, although vastly experienced as an amateur his still only 26 and a 4 fight PRO, his only going to get better.
I thought he was exceptional, and as far as taking his opponent out earlier, maybe he tried, maybe he wanted as many rounds as possible ! Either way, I could watch him all night long.
