James Degale vs Andre Dirrell

Post by hulkmaniac »

Both fast and athletic, how do you see this one? Degale is closer to his prime, but I think Dirrell is a little better in almost every category and would edge it.

IMO, it's completely impossible to tell where Dirrell is until he fights another top 15 opponent and takes some punches at that level.

Great fight... i still think Dirrell should be undefeated & he would may edge it with his slightly bigger experience, against guys like Abraham and Froch. Dirrell SD.

I'd say Dirrell is still in his prime at 31.

I think DeGale is going to be up there as one of the best SMW by the end of 2015.

If Degale was to win a world title, make a defence or 2 then id give him a live chance of beating Ward,id still have Andre favourite but James has the speed and skill to give Ward as much trouble as anyone plus DeGale has a bit more devil in his work than the Dirrell's so he'd probably be the best bet of dethroning Ward

Andre Dirrell wins 11-1 ... easy fight.

James Degale doesn't belong in the same ring as Andre Ward.

It's always good to hear to some fresh delusional opinions about another terribly average British fighter.

Let's talk about another British gold medalist by the name of Audley Harrison ... ;;-)
Let's talk about a British bronze medalist by the name of David Price ... ;;-)
Let's talk about a British bronze medalist by the name of Amir Khan ... ;;-)

Ha, what a failure of you trying to bring up amateur accomplishments like he's Felix Savon or something.

Degale is not that good. Deal with it.

Dirrell is very talented but doesn't have a fighters heart. His brother has the heart but not as much skill as Andre.

Dirrell would win the early rounds but Degale would get him.

Or maybe Dirrell would win. Who the fornicate knows.

Lol, Andre Dirrell isn't really the fighter to use to try and win your nationalistic high horse argument.

He doesn't have the testicular fortitude for anyone to be able to predict with confidence he'd beat Degale, especially with the layoff.

Admittedly Degale hasn't proven a hell of a lot recently either.

It's not an easy fight to call.

i think degale has proven alot recently he stopped Gonzales in 4 an undefeated american 18-0 who had a good amateur career and just stopped Periban in 3 who has apparently never been down as a pro, also fought bika who is a bit of a puncher for a world title, i think hes proving something.

If Dirrell gets back to his best (like the night he fought Froch) then I'd say Andre. But if he's not at his best, DeGale is on great form at the moment...

Khan won a silver medal and is a former world champion at 140. You get to bring up Khan in a Dirrell thread when Dirrell finally achieves something of similar significance to what Khan has done.

He does have the AA win, but AA has achieved nothing of note at super-middleweight. As for Froch, Dirrell would have won that fight if he hadn't spent the fight flopping to the canvas over and over again and clinging onto Froch like he was terrified he would leave. But he did, so he didn't.
