Well done fwank
I've previously slated him for the way his cards have fallen apart so credit where credit is due - he put together a stacked card and it held together. I loved every minute of it. He also pulled off a great match up in bjs / Eubank, including delivering the fight despite all the bumps in the road along the way.
I see there are grumbles about the card going on so late but it's good to see him back in business so to speak. I hope he delivers more shows like this, the problem of competitive match making is that you risk losing a fighter on each show. If he staged another big show in February, March, who could headline it ? They have fury in February but now he's the mandatory contender they will match him weakly. I think chisora is finished, you couldn't bring him back from that in terms of putting him in the chief support against a fringe contender. I guess bjs in a world title bid is a natural bill topper for London and putting Eubank on the same bill makes sense.
Anyway, well done to frank. Putting that show together took some doing.

I agree it was a decent night of boxing and the Eubank v Saunders fight is easily worthy of a rematch in a couple of fights time.
Re: Well done fwank
According to many twitter sources it was an absolute nightmare in the excel

Saw a couple of mentions of a show February 28th at the O2, Fury, Saunders world title fight, whether Eubank Jr is on it or not will probably depend on how willing Fwank is to work with Senior again.JimJim2009 wrote:I've previously slated him for the way his cards have fallen apart so credit where credit is due - he put together a stacked card and it held together. Re: Well done fwank
he just needs to get the lay out of his card better -
4 fight Main Card starting at 8pm. Main Event starts at 10pm.
Then do what you want undercard/prelim wise. Just make sure they run to a schedule.
can't complain at the match-ups, just waiting till soo late to see them isn't great.

I imagine Snr is a right pain in the arse to deal with; they ought to put a picture of Chris Snr next to the definition of 'hubris' in the dictionary.

I am sure that he is a nightmare to deal with (as are many people in any kind of business) however he is pure box office.
This fight happened because of Eubank senior and now a lot of people know who BJS is (indirectly because if Eubank senior).
In the lead up to this fight he was on tv, talk sport, the Internet etc. - the best publicity b.ox.nation has ever had.

When you've recorded a night's boxing on BN, why does it get deleted after a week? (I realise most get repeated in time anyway).

Not 100% sure, but I imagine it's due to their PPV service for non-subscribers (not even sure if it's actually still going anymore though, I think they trialled it for Bradley vs Marquez but haven't heard much since).King Tubby wrote:When you've recorded a night's boxing on BN, why does it get deleted after a week? Re: Well done fwank
I agree on paper BJS v CEJ should have been a great fight but in all honesty was disappointing after so much was promised by the fighters themselves
Re: Well done fwank
I forgot to watch a card a few weeks ago & it got deleted seriously pissed me off!King Tubby wrote:When you've recorded a night's boxing on BN, why does it get deleted after a week? (I realise most get repeated in time anyway).

Isn't Lee v Koborov on the Bradley Chaves card anymore then?mickey1975 wrote:Andy Lee-Koborov on Feb 28. BJS and Fury on the undercard. Even more travellers!

Re: Well done fwank
The card was good, but the times were absolutely terrible. It felt like staying up to watch a US fight, yet it was taking place down the road in the Excel. A complete and utter f**k up, events like this need to run to time. What happened with the ESPN broadcast in the States, was it live or on delay? I wondered if the late timing was due to an agreed timings with them? No British sporting event should be still going on past 1am.

It still is. I think Mickey is getting confused there. Frank wants the winner to fight Billy on his february show if possible.ste1983 wrote:Isn't Lee v Koborov on the Bradley Chaves card anymore then?mickey1975 wrote:Andy Lee-Koborov on Feb 28. BJS and Fury on the undercard. Even more travellers!
