It's a very high quality match up (you can make a good case for either fighter winning) and will make or break Khan's chances of facing Mayweather. Alexander is far and away the best fighter Khan has faced since Garcia which was over 2 and a half years ago.

Are many folk planning on making a late night out of this and how do you see it going?

This is interesting because both fighters are coming into this having changed their styles in some way.We know how well Khan looked against Collazo with his new disciplined longer range,scoring with the jab etc but Alexander showed a different way himself in his last fight with Soto Karass.Alexander actually looked quite aggressive against Soto Karass and took the fight to him more than he usually would.My feeling is Alexander will win the fight,I think it will be close but to be honest I think Alexander can beat Khan at his own game but now has another way if needs be.

hasn't fought a top level fighter in 2 n a half years, and in that fight he got smashed. only reason hes fighting alexander is cos hes no where else to go ,and alexander looks to be on the wane. he certainly needs a knockout or a wide UD to prove himself relevant.

He does need a big performance Jim and i'd say that beating Alexander would make a statement as Alexander is higher in the food chain that Khan in the welter division.

I fancy staying up for this one myself. I've not really done the late night for many Khan fights which i'd probably put down to a couple of things, age and level of opposition but this for me is a 53/47 fight for me!

Has anyone seen this covered in the papers yet?

I completely wrote him off against Collazo and lost a hundred quid.

Whilst Collazo fought like an alcoholic, you can't take anything away from Khan's performance because he boxed tremendous.

I gave him little chance against Brook but that performance at full 147 changed my mind. He has grown into the weight now.

The closer this gets, the more i think it might turn out to be a brilliant fight. Khan will nick early rounds doing what he does with Alexander being a bit cagey. I can see Alexander timing him a couple of times in the mid rounds, maybe knocking him down and giving us a finish similar to the Maidaina fight with Khan's fitness being crucial. It's going to be tight.

I think alexander is a very very good boxer but i think everything that he does well, khan seems slightly better at.

Will be competitive but i think khan beats him 8 or 9 times out of 10.

One consideration would be that defeat for alexander will be more harmful long term than it will for khan regarding elite level fights which may lead to devon opening up more than usual.

Interesting fight. Good on both for taking it.

Khan and Alexander will be intriguing,i think Amir can outspeed Devon but i couldnt say for certain until first bell rings because their both close in the speed department,Devon's the better boxer i would say but can be discouraged if the pressure's on constant like what Bradley and Porter did,he is tough though Alexander and been in with some pretty scary punchers,Khan isnt a Matthysse/Maidana type puncher but if he lets his hands go frequently,Devon wont like it and Amir does have enough power to make Alexander back off,Devon's smart though and if Amir gets caught fighting that inbetween style like he did against Diaz then Alexander outboxes him pretty easily

Im going for another great performance from Khan though and expect him to win soundly on points in the end

I'm leaning towards Alexander for this fight, I just don't think khan is in the right weight class at welterweight, he seemed much better at light-welterweight. This is Alexander's ideal weight class to me, he seems stronger, faster much more comfortable boxing for the full length of a fight. khan seems to tire by the end of 12 rounds or makes it an ugly fight to tip the result in his favour.

Tough , tough fight for Khan. I pick him on point but wouldn't shock me at all to see him lose.

Alexander has only lost to Bradley and Porter who are both completely different fighters to Khan. He also has more of a dig than his record suggests and when he gets his timing on, he's dangerous (just ask Juan Urango - who Hatton, Berto and serously hard puincher Bailey couldn't put a dent in).
